About
Halite is a food and sodium diary for people who just want to know the number. Eat something, search a built-in database of everyday foods, tap the serving you had β and one ring on your home screen fills up. That is the entire loop, and it takes about five seconds. When the label in your hand is easier than searching, type the milligrams straight in. YOUR TARGET, IN EITHER DIRECTION Almost everything in this category assumes you are cutting down. Halite assumes nothing. Set a daily target to stay UNDER a number, or set one to reach AT LEAST a number β both are first class, and the ring reads the same way for both. Plenty of people are told to keep salt up rather than down, and they get a real app here instead of a workaround. You can also skip the target entirely. With none set, the ring simply shows your total for the day. That is a complete way to use it. WHAT YOU GET β’ A built-in database of everyday foods, searchable by name or category β’ Quick-add straight from any nutrition label β’ Serving multipliers β half, one, or double β’ Your own foods, saved once and reused forever β’ The day's ring, and a week strip to put today in context β’ Full history with a calendar you can scroll back through β’ Weekly averages, and the trend running underneath them β’ CSV export of every item, every day, every milligram IT SHOWS ITS SOURCES Every bundled food carries the id of the USDA FoodData Central record it came from, and the serving USDA published for it. Nothing is estimated and nothing is invented. If a number ever looks wrong to you, the label in your hand is the one to trust β and you can save that as your own food in two taps. The About screen names the sources in full and links to them: https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/ PRIVATE, AND ACTUALLY OFFLINE Your diary never leaves your iPhone. No account, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no ads, no tracking. The app works with no connection at all β on a plane, in a basement, in a lift. Purchases are handled by the App Store; nothing else about you is collected. SINGLE PURPOSE, ON PURPOSE Halite counts salt and gets out of the way. It is not trying to be an everything-tracker: one number, entered fast, is the whole idea. General nutrition apps will show you sodium somewhere, usually several screens deep behind calories and macros you did not ask about. If sodium is the number you actually care about, something dedicated is faster every single day β and a diary you can finish in ten seconds is one you will still be keeping next month. WHO KEEPS ONE People eating a low-sodium diet. People tracking intake because a clinician asked them to β kidney health, blood pressure, POTS, heart health. Athletes and people with POTS who need to keep salt up. Anyone who reads nutrition labels and would like the day's total in one place. Halite is the diary they keep, and nothing more than that. Halite is a food and sodium diary β it does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. Sodium targets are personal β use the one your clinician gave you. Your data stays on your device β no account, no cloud. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ β Privacy Policy: https://kanac.github.io/syanac-legal/
