About
You take on a piece of land and 52 weeks a year to make something of it. Farm Director is a deep, offline farming management sim. One button drives everything β Advance Week. Everything else is deciding where three actions and a limited pile of cash go before the weather makes the decision for you. THE LAND REMEMBERS Every crop you drill drains the soil. Wheat and potatoes take hard; beans and grass give back. Work heavy machinery on wet ground and you compact it. Soil health drives your yield, your input costs and your standing in the district β farm it hard and win now, or feed it and win later. The game never tells you which is right. THE YARD Build a fleet from nothing. Tractors from a 40hp compact to a 450hp articulated, ploughs, drills, sprayers, balers and combines. Implements need a tractor with the horsepower to pull them β buy a six-metre drill for a 90hp tractor and you've made an expensive mistake. Every machine tracks hours, condition and age. A six-thousand-hour combine at condition 40 breaks down roughly one day in seven, and it will pick harvest week to do it. Buy new, buy used, take finance, or call the contractor. The used market lists make, model, hours and a stated condition β which is not always the true one. Pay for an inspection, trust your workshop, or take the gamble like everyone else does. TIMING IS THE WHOLE GAME Field work is scheduled, not instant. Order a job and it joins the work queue, and each week your fleet grinds through it at whatever rate the machinery, weather and labour allow. You never have enough machine-days in the window. That's farming. HARVEST The calendar stops and you play it out day by day. Set the cutting order β take what's most at risk first. Roll the weather. Rain is a lost day and standing crop degrading in the field. Watch the grade split come in: Premium, Standard, Feed. Losing a third of a crop to a wet fortnight should hurt, and it does. THE MARKET Commodity, input and fuel prices move every week on a real simulation with visible history and no visible future. Sell spot at the safe floor, sign forward contracts and sleep at night, or build a brand and sell direct at more than double the going rate. Lock in one hundred percent of your expected yield and pray it doesn't drought β you'll be buying grain on the open market to fulfil your own contract. THE HERD Every animal is an individual, with a name, a pedigree line, a yield rating and a show record. Choose which bull to use and which heifer to hold back, and watch the decision play out over four seasons. Grow your own silage and the herd is cheap. Don't, and you buy feed at spiked prices in exactly the year you can least afford it. BUILD SOMETHING THAT LASTS A thirty-one node research tree across agronomy, genetics, automation, processing and sustainability. Autosteer, no-till, robotic milking, cold chain, export certification, anaerobic digestion. Eleven staff roles. Building tracks for workshops, grain stores, the farm shop, processing and irrigation. Sponsors and buyers to negotiate with. Sixty-plus written incidents that put a genuinely hard choice in front of you at 2am. Climb eight tiers from Smallholding to Agri-Empire, ranked against two hundred rival farms on a 0β1000 Estate Index, and finish each season with a graded report card from your family, your buyers, your workers and your neighbours. EIGHT WAYS IN Inherit deep Dutch loam with money in the bank, or take on fifty-five Kenyan hectares of exhausted ground with ninety thousand of debt accruing from week one. Netherlands, France, Iowa, the UK, Ukraine, Australia, Kenya β or build your own start from scratch. β No ads. No energy meters. No timers. No internet required. Three save slots and a game you can put down for a month and pick straight back up.
