Backflow Log is for the Massachusetts backflow tester working alone. Record a test at the assembly, generate the Massachusetts-format inspection report as a PDF, and email it to the water department before you leave the site. No account. No per-test fee. No signal required — which matters, because RPZs live in basements. FIELD TEST ENTRY Pick the assembly and the form shows only the readings that apply to it — RP, RPDA, DC, DCDA, PVB or SVB. Pass or fail is computed as you type, against the acceptance criteria in the NEWWA field test procedures: check valves at 1.0 psid on a double check, 5.0 psid on an RP's first check, a relief valve opening at 2.0 psid, air inlet and check at 1.0 psid on a vacuum breaker. A half-finished test is never scored as a failure — it tells you which reading is still missing. THE REPORT A PDF laid out after the MassDEP Backflow Preventer Assembly Inspection and Maintenance Report Form: public water system and facility, preventer details, test kit information, readings, your certification block, and a witness line for the facility owner. Capture a signature on the glass. Share it straight to Mail, Files, or anywhere else from the share sheet. KNOWS THE DEADLINES Reduced pressure assemblies default to a six-month retest, double checks to twelve, per 310 CMR 22.22 — with a per-device override for programs that run their own schedule. A failed assembly starts the fourteen-day repair-and-retest clock and stays on the dashboard until it's cleared. Reminders for tests coming due, your certification expiring, and your gauge calibration. YOUR RECORDS, ON YOUR DEVICE Customers, facilities, devices, and every test you've recorded, searchable by customer, address, or serial number. That history is also your WS 10 renewal evidence — MassDEP wants 24 tests in three years. Everything is stored on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers.
