Miwake is a kanji app with an underlying AI layer that helps you distinguish between kanji that look the same by forcing you to choose from them side-by-side. Over time the app builds up a list of what kanji you often confuse and gradually forces your to look at them side-by-side to help pinpoint the differences. IMPORTANT NOTE: This app uses the on-device AI that started with iOS27. For devices with iOS versions PRIOR to iOS27 you will need to either use your own ChatGpt/Gemini/Claude API key or subscribe to the 'Plus' version to use the 'Subscription' AI engine (right now that's ChatGPT). Since these engines are very much advanced compared to the on-device model, they will come up with better false answers, meanings and sample sentences when used. Other features include... Your own list of preferred words that it prioritizes for kanji practice. Personally tailor it manually if there are specific kanji you often confuse. 5 different question types and also supports keyboard so you can type your pronunciation answer if you prefer. Graphical stats to show you your JLPT progress. Kanji library so you can see your progress and history of individual kanji. Export/Import progress as JSON file. Miwake Plus — $0.99/month. Removes the ad banner and unlocks the Subscription AI engine, which writes your cards with no API key to set up. Auto-renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
