About
Record a session and get back something you can actually go through afterwards. Press one button. The app records the room, reads the phone's magnetometer twenty times a second, and puts every field spike, every movement and every marker you drop onto the same timeline as the audio. When you stop, the session is already saved and open in front of you. ONE TIMELINE, NOT FIVE NEEDLES Most tools in this category show you a needle that twitches and then forgets. This one keeps a record. Scrub the waveform and the event track moves with it. Tap an event and the audio jumps to that second. Everything lines up, because that alignment is the entire point. NO WAITING TO START There is no calibration screen and no warm-up you have to sit through. Recording begins on the tap. The app learns the room's baseline while the session runs, and it says so on screen while it is learning instead of pretending it already knows. WHAT IT ACTUALLY MEASURES • Magnetic field in microtesla, straight from the magnetometer, with the room's own rolling baseline underneath it • Two thresholds you set yourself: a watch level and a spike level, both measured above that baseline rather than as absolute numbers, so a kitchen and a cellar mean the same thing • Device movement, logged as context, because a field jump while the phone was being picked up is the phone being picked up • Loud transients in the recorded audio • Markers, whenever you tap One spike is logged once, not forty times. A quiet room produces an empty timeline, and that is the correct answer. THE SCAN IS A SWEEP, NOT A VOICE Turn on the scan and the app plays band-limited noise whose centre frequency sweeps across a band you choose, at a rate you choose, upward, downward or in random steps. White, pink or brown. Through the speaker, or into headphones only so the recording stays clean. There is no word bank in this app. No recorded voice, no speech synthesis, no sample library. Every sound it makes is generated on the device from noise. If you are looking for an app that speaks words at you, this is not that app. REVIEW IT PROPERLY • Waveform scrubbing over the whole recording • A spectrogram of any six second window, so you can look at a sound as well as listen to it • Tag a clip and name what you heard • Session notes • Sites, so two nights at the same place stay together • A seven night streak and a breakdown of which hours of the night your own sessions actually produce events EXPORT AND KEEP IT One tap writes the audio file, a CSV of every event with timestamps, and a plain text report. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. If you record something you care about, you can get it out. BUILT TO BE USED IN THE DARK Full screen session view, large readouts, dark by default. Leave the phone in a room with the screen locked and it keeps recording. VoiceOver labels on every control and full Dynamic Type support, because plenty of people who are into this cannot read six point grey text. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION This app makes no network requests at all. No account, no sign in, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking. Recordings, events, notes and sites are written inside the app and are removed with it. The Sites feature looks places up by name and the app never asks where your phone is. ONE PURCHASE Buy it once and everything is unlocked. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no consumable credits, no locked features. THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT Ghost EVP Recorder does not detect, contact or identify anything, and it never claims to. Every figure it shows is a raw reading from the phone's own sensors or a measurement of the audio it recorded, presented as exactly that. A magnetic reading changes near wiring, speakers, motors and metal, and that is what it is measuring. Nothing here is evidence of the paranormal. Enjoy it for what it is.
