About
Start beside a London bus. Choose a stop ahead. Then find your own route and beat it there. Race the Bus turns an ordinary run into a head-to-head race against London transport. You and the bus begin at the same stop and share the same finish line—but you do not have to follow the bus route. Take streets, parks, footpaths and safe pedestrian shortcuts while the bus deals with traffic, passengers and every stop along the way. HOW IT WORKS • Find the bus stop you are standing beside • Select an approaching bus • Choose a 1 km, 3 km or 5 km challenge • Pick a downstream stop as the finish line • Start when the bus departs • Run any safe, legally accessible pedestrian route • Reach the destination stop before the bus RACE IN REAL TIME During the race, Race the Bus compares your estimated arrival with the bus’s live arrival information. See: • Whether you are ahead or behind • Your estimated arrival time • The bus’s estimated arrival time • Your current and required pace • Remaining distance • Live Activity updates on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island COMPETE BY BUS ROUTE Every route has its own competition. Race for the fastest verified times across: • Route 73 — 1 km • Route 73 — 3 km • Route 73 — 5 km • Other supported London bus routes • Northbound and southbound directions • Exact start-to-finish courses Compare your result with other runners, improve your personal best and try to move up each route’s scoreboard. YOUR RUNS, ACROSS YOUR DEVICES Race history and personal results are synchronised privately using iCloud and CloudKit. Public scoreboards show only the information needed for competition—not your complete running trace. APPLE-NATIVE RUNNING Race the Bus is built for iPhone using Apple technologies including: • SwiftUI • MapKit • Core Location • HealthKit • CloudKit • Live Activities • Dynamic Island • Haptics and spoken race updates HealthKit access is optional. When enabled, completed races can be saved as running workouts. BUILT FOR SAFE COMPETITION Always use pedestrian access, crossings and traffic signals. Never enter roads, railways, private property or restricted areas. The bus can win. Your safety matters more than the result. Live arrival information is predictive and may change because of traffic, diversions, disruption or incomplete transport data. Results affected by unreliable data may be marked provisional or unranked. Race the Bus currently supports participating TfL bus services in London.
