About
Is the pavement safe for your dog's paws right now? Paw Weather answers in one look — and keeps the walks, meals, weight and memories of the dog you love. • Safe to walk? GO, CAUTION or DANGER from estimated pavement temperature, heat index and wind chill. • Walks save themselves the moment you finish, and your route stays on the map as paw prints. • Medals that grow as you walk — plus 30 secret ones you only discover by earning them. • Meals, weight, medicine and vet visits, one tap each. AIR TEMPERATURE LIES On a pleasant 77°F sunny day, asphalt nears 125°F — hot enough to hurt paw pads in about a minute. In winter, a clear still night can freeze the pavement at 35°F. Paws (hot asphalt, ice, road salt) and body (heatstroke, wind chill) are judged separately; the worse one wins. JUDGED FOR YOUR DOG Breed, age, size and coat adjust every verdict, following published veterinary guidance. An 18-hour timeline shows the safe walk windows. RECORD THE WALK Tap Start walk: the app times it, draws the route, and keeps judging the pavement as you go. Big one-tap pee and poo buttons — also on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Drop water, notes, photos and stamps on the map, and pan the map freely. Walks save automatically and resume if the app closes. Your route stays as paw prints, with distance, time and pace. MEDALS AND STREAKS Medals for walk counts, streaks and distance, a flame on your streak, and a celebration for every new personal best. Rainy walks, photos, stamps, seasons: 30 secret medals wait to be found. Skipping a walk on a dangerously hot day never breaks your streak. YOUR REAL DOG COMES FIRST The home screen opens on your dog: today's walks, meals, water, weight and medicine, each one tap. Rearrange Home with a drag, or hide the buddy to keep just your records. MEDICINE AND PLANS Add any number of medicines — daily, every few days, on set weekdays or monthly — with reminders only on dosing days. Vet visits, vaccines, grooming and pet hotels sit on one calendar. LOOK BACK This week's walks compared with your dog's usual, a heat map of walk days, and the weight trend as a chart. MEMORIES Keep a photo and a line from any walk, laid out like an album. A SHIBA BUDDY WHO MIRRORS YOUR CARE In a small sunlit room, your buddy reacts to the weather, the time of day and the care you give your real dog, walks along in a little window on the map, and plays fetch after the walk. It cannot get sick or die. PUBLIC WEATHER DATA api.weather.gov in the U.S.; MET Norway (api.met.no, CC BY 4.0) elsewhere.
