About

KitchenLocker holds a combination for you and will not hand it back early. You put whatever you are taking a break from into a box — a bottle, a pack, a console, a second phone — and shut it with an ordinary combination lock from any hardware shop. You save the digits here and set a timer. Until that timer ends, nothing in this app will show them to anyone. You included. That is the whole trick. There is no motor, no Bluetooth, no clever hardware. The app's only moving part is refusing to answer. WHY IT WORKS Resolve is cheapest at the moment you set the rule and most expensive an hour later. KitchenLocker moves the decision to the cheap moment and makes the expensive one a padlock's problem instead of yours. THREE KINDS OF LOCK Manual — stays shut until a date and time you pick. Recurring — opens once per period, a day or a week, then shuts again on its own schedule. On demand — stays shut indefinitely. When you ask for it, a delay you chose in advance starts running: the time your resolve gets to change its mind. Asking can be cancelled. The delay cannot be hurried. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO It will not shorten a timer. A wait that can be talked down is not a wait, and the app cannot tell a typo from a change of heart. A running lock offers one adjustment: staying shut longer. It will not release the digits on the way out. Delete a lock and the combination stays sealed, waiting in Recently deleted for 30 days. It will not be fooled by the clock. Setting your phone forward does not open a lock early; setting it back does not stretch one out. The one early exit is a backup code. Ten single-use codes, generated ahead of time and shown exactly once — write them down somewhere outside the box, and keep them there. Spending one opens that lock on the spot, and your streak starts over. IT RUNS ON YOUR PHONE A timer is arithmetic against a saved time, not a process. Force-quit the app, switch on aeroplane mode, run the battery flat overnight — none of it moves an opening. Notifications for openings are scheduled with the system, so the phone tells you when time is up whether the app is running or not. No connection required. No account either, unless you want your locks on more than one phone. SEALED BEFORE IT LEAVES Turn sync on and lock names, combinations, memos and history are sealed on the phone before they go anywhere, with a key that travels between your devices in envelopes no server can open. A new phone joins only when a phone that already syncs, or your recovery code, admits it — a password on its own is deliberately not enough. The service can see that a lock exists and how its timer runs. Not what it is called, unless you choose to share that, and never the digits. An optional Face ID, fingerprint or passcode gate keeps combinations and countdowns off the screen when somebody else is holding your phone. WHAT THE APP KEEPS Every lock, every opening and every backup code spent lands in an activity log you can read back. The stats screen counts the hours you have held, your current streak, and how the weeks compare. A split-flap countdown on the home screen makes the wait harder to ignore. WHAT NEVER GOES IN THE BOX Anything living, first and always. After that: medicine, spare keys, documents, anything you might need in an emergency, and anything you cannot afford to lose. Combinations get lost, and no system is perfect. Shut every box on the assumption that it might stay shut. The notice before your first lock asks you to agree to exactly that, and it is not small print. WHAT IT COSTS Nothing, for now. The app has just launched and both Pro features are on for everyone: unlimited locks and on-demand locks. Sync, history and monthly reports are not part of Pro. Settings names what Pro will cover and says plainly that the launch is what is paying for it. KitchenLocker is a commitment device, not a vault door. It works because you decided it should, and it keeps working after you change your mind.
