Your phone already carries the sensors a hidden camera detector uses: a radio, a magnetometer and a camera. This app turns them into a five-minute sweep of any room — and tells you plainly what each check can and cannot find. It cannot prove a room is clean, and it does not claim to: a phone can only report what these five methods returned, and a camera that is offline, on another network, or well enough concealed will not appear in any of them. FIVE CHECKS, EACH FINDING SOMETHING THE OTHERS CAN'T Network scan — lists every device sharing the Wi-Fi you are on, and flags the ones answering on ports cameras use. Each device is shown with the reason it stood out, so you judge it rather than trusting a verdict. Lens reflection — a lens sends light back along the path it arrived on. Under the torch it answers as a small, steady bright point that stays put while everything else shifts as you move. Infrared viewer — night-vision cameras light a dark room with infrared your eyes can't see. The front camera can often see it as a pale violet dot. Bluetooth scan — some cameras and trackers announce themselves over Bluetooth. Signal strength rises as you get closer. Magnetic field — the magnetometer reacts to metal in a housing at very close range. WHERE TO ACTUALLY LOOK A room checklist walks you through the six places cameras genuinely turn up — smoke alarms, sockets and chargers, air vents, anything with a clock face, décor above eye level, and mirrors facing the bed or shower — with what gives each one away. WHAT THIS APP WILL NOT DO It will not tell you a room is clean. Every check here has limits and every screen says what its own are. The network scan cannot see a camera on another network, on mobile data, or recording to a card with no network at all. Bluetooth only finds devices actively broadcasting. The magnetometer reacts to any metal, so a screw reads the same as a camera. A sweep that finds nothing means these methods found nothing — no more than that.
