About
## Apple App Store Description LCH–Behind the Wall is a mental wellness and resilience app created specifically for correctional officers and other correctional professionals. Working inside a correctional facility brings pressures that many people never see. Constant vigilance, unpredictable incidents, mandatory overtime, staff shortages, violence, manipulation, isolation, and repeated exposure to trauma can affect emotional health, sleep, relationships, and life outside the facility. LCH–Behind the Wall provides private, practical support designed around the realities of correctional work. The app includes resources for: • Correctional officer stress and burnout • Critical incident recovery • Assaults, threats, and workplace violence • Inmate suicide and attempted suicide • Responding to medical emergencies and deaths • Hostage situations and facility disturbances • Hypervigilance on and off duty • Moral injury and emotional conflict • Compassion fatigue and emotional numbness • Sleep disruption, fatigue, and shift work • Anger, irritability, and difficult emotions • Alcohol and substance misuse concerns • Family relationships and communication • Supporting a fellow officer in crisis • Returning to work after a traumatic incident • Retirement and transition from corrections Users can access grounding exercises, emotional check-ins, guided coping tools, educational resources, and strategies for managing difficult moments before, during, or after a shift. LCH–Behind the Wall recognizes that asking for help can be difficult in a profession where strength, control, and emotional toughness are often expected. The app offers a private space to pause, process, and take the next step without judgment. This app is designed to support correctional officers, supervisors, administrators, transportation officers, probation and parole professionals, and others working within correctional environments. LCH–Behind the Wall does not replace professional mental health care, emergency services, or crisis treatment. Anyone in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency should contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.
