Pops wisdom

About

Pops sits on your screen in his flat cap and tells you things you probably needed telling. Tap him and he'll tell you another. He is not unkind. He's just not going to make a fuss about it. "Measure twice. Cut once. I'll not say it a third time." "Buy cheap, buy twice. That's not an opinion, that's arithmetic." "Put it back where you found it and you'll find it again." "Pay the bill the day it arrives. Debt is a thing that grows in the dark." Wisdoms Hundreds of them, tools, money, weather, other people, the state of your posture. They come out shuffled, and nothing repeats until the pile has run dry. Some are softer than the rest. Those are left scattered among the others on purpose. REMINDERS Give him a thing and the days it matters, and he'll go on at you about it. The notification arrives with a line of his own attached, so it never quite reads like a normal alert. BIRTHDAYS A birthday book that tells you who's next and how many days you've got. Set your own notice, a week, a fortnight, so there's still time to do something about it. MADE OF PIXELS Pops is hand-drawn pixel art, twenty-four pixels across. His moustache stays put while his mouth moves, which is roughly how it works on the real thing. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. Your reminders and birthdays sync between your own devices through your own iCloud, and nowhere else. THE BISCUIT TIN Free: five home truths a day, two reminders, three birthdays. Past that he pushes the biscuit tin across the table at you, without quite looking at you. One payment unlocks all three, for good. No subscription.
