Piecework is a native iPad studio for designing foundation paper piecing (FPP) quilt patterns with Apple Pencil. Draw your seams, let Piecework turn them into numbered pieces and sewable sections, then print mirrored foundations at true 100% scale. DRAW • Sketch straight seams with Apple Pencil. Lines snap into place and run on to the seam they would meet. • Move, delete, and resize. Seam allowance stays exactly ¼ in (or 6 mm, or your own) at any size. • Trace over a reference photo, and see finished sizes in inches and centimeters. SECTIONS AND SEW ORDER • Pieces number themselves into sections as you draw. • Sew order is checked with real geometry for flip-and-sew construction, so a block marked sewable can actually be paper pieced. • Compare every valid way to section your block, and mark section boundaries with Scissors. FABRIC • Fill pieces from a fabric palette to preview your colors before you cut. • A cutting list tells you which pieces use each fabric. PRINT • Foundations print mirrored, because you sew from the back. • A 1-inch calibration square on every page lets you check the scale with a ruler. • US Letter or A4.
