About
QRveil shows you what a QR code really contains before you act on it. Paste the text from a code, or pick a photo or screenshot that contains a QR code, and QRveil lays the payload out in plain view. Nothing opens automatically. WHAT QRVEIL RECOGNIZES - Web addresses: shows the domain the link points to - Wi-Fi network codes: shows the network name and flags hidden networks - Email codes (mailto and MATMSG): shows the address - Phone number codes (tel) - Calendar event codes (VEVENT): shows the event title - Anything else is shown as plain text The complete raw contents are always shown too, so you can read every character yourself. SAFETY CHECK FOR LINKS For web addresses, QRveil looks for common warning signs: - Unencrypted HTTP instead of HTTPS - Punycode (xn--) domains, which can imitate familiar names - Internationalized (non-ASCII) domain names - A user name or password embedded in the link - A missing domain - Tracking parameters: utm_ tags, fbclid, gclid, igshid and si When tracking parameters are present, QRveil prepares a copy of the link without them. You can share that inspected link, or open it in your browser, only when you choose to. HOW IT WORKS 1. Paste or type the QR contents and tap Inspect text, or tap Read QR from photo and choose an image from your library. 2. Review the payload type, the destination, the raw text and the safety check. 3. Share or open the inspected link only if you decide to. PRIVACY QRveil reads codes entirely on your device. It never contacts the link it inspects, and photos you pick are used only to read the code; they are not stored. No account, no ads, no analytics and no developer server. GOOD TO KNOW QRveil reads QR codes from saved photos and screenshots; it does not use the live camera and does not read other barcode types. It does not keep a history of inspected codes. The safety check looks for common warning signs; it cannot prove that a destination is safe, so a link without warnings can still be harmful.
