LEARN IS NOW A REAL COURSE. The Learn section used to deal out the same one-line definitions as flashcards. It has been rebuilt as twenty-three written chapters — one per unit, twenty-five to seventy minutes of reading each. - Chapters now name the material instead of summarizing it: every antimicrobial class with its target, spectrum and resistance mechanisms; the stains step by step; every pathogen by body system with transmission, distinguishing sign, diagnosis and treatment; the meningitis CSF table; the hepatitis A-E comparison; food intoxication versus infection onset windows. - Each chapter reads as continuous text with section headings, key-fact boxes, worked examples and clinical correlations, opens with that unit's real lab slide, and ends with a button into its quiz. - All of it is original material, fact-checked in four independent passes against Tortora, Madigan and Murray. STUDY CARDS NOW TEST RECALL The shuffled deck no longer duplicates Learn. The answer is blurred behind a tap-to-reveal veil, so you commit to an answer before you see it. Read the chapter, then drill the cards. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE - The About screen now carries a full Content & Image Attribution section naming the licenses behind every Slide Lab image - Corrected the in-app version string and the description of how Learn works - Accessibility and layout polish throughout the reading view

About
Microbiology Arena is a full microbiology course and a fast arcade quiz in one app. Read the chapter, then race the clock on what you just learned. A COMPLETE WRITTEN COURSE Twenty-three chapters, one per unit, written for this app and sourced against Tortora's Microbiology: An Introduction, Madigan's Brock Biology of Microorganisms, and Murray's Medical Microbiology. These are not flashcard summaries. Every chapter names the material: each drug class with its molecular target, spectrum and signature toxicity; the Gram and acid-fast stains step by step with the reagent and the result at each stage; the pathogens of every body system with transmission, distinguishing sign, diagnosis and treatment; the CSF findings that separate bacterial from viral from fungal meningitis; food intoxication versus infection with the onset windows; hepatitis A through E side by side. Chapters run twenty-five to seventy minutes of reading, with section headings, key-fact boxes, worked examples and clinical correlations — and each one ends with a button straight into that unit's quiz. SLIDE LAB Identify 18 real microscopy images and agar plates — Gram stains, acid-fast bacilli, blood agar hemolysis, MacConkey and EMB plates, fungi, parasites, and virus electron micrographs. Proper prep for a lab practical. BEAT THE CLOCK Quick Play is an endless blitz across every unit: hearts, rising levels, and a combo multiplier that rewards streaks. Every question is timed, and every miss is followed by the correct answer and a short explanation, so getting one wrong still teaches you something. STUDY CARDS THAT ACTUALLY TEST YOU A shuffled deck drawn from all 23 units. The answer stays blurred until you tap to reveal it — think first, check second, then move on. Recall practice, not passive reading. TWENTY-THREE UNITS Foundations · Microscopy & Staining · Prokaryotic Cell Structure · Eukaryotic Microbes · Viruses, Viroids & Prions · Metabolism · Growth & Culturing · Controlling Growth · Genetics & Biotech · Classification & Diversity · Antimicrobial Drugs · Innate Immunity · Adaptive Immunity · Immune Disorders & Immunization · Host-Pathogen Interactions · Epidemiology · Applied & Environmental Microbiology · then Infectious Diseases by body system: Skin & Eye · Nervous · Cardiovascular & Systemic · Respiratory · Digestive · Urogenital & STIs. WAYS TO USE IT - Learn — read a full chapter, then jump straight into that unit's quiz - Quick Play — endless blitz, all units, beat your high score - Play by unit — clear a single unit and earn up to three stars - Slide Lab — identify real microscopy and culture plates - Study Cards — shuffled tap-to-reveal recall drill - Review — re-tackle the questions you have missed - References — every source the content follows BUILT TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY No account. No sign-in. No advertising. No analytics and no tracking of any kind. Everything works offline, and your scores and progress stay on your device. Great for nursing, pre-med, allied-health and biology students, or anyone who wants to learn microbiology properly. Microbiology Arena is an independent study aid from BlackFox Media LLC. It is a study aid for educational use and is not medical advice.
