Voicebraid is first-species counterpoint as a puzzle: a fixed melody is given, and you shape the voice above it. SIXTY STUDIES, SIX MODES The cantus firmi rotate through Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, and Aeolian, in four melodic shapes and lengths from 8 to 12 notes — every study different, every study answerable.
