Momofuda is a Japanese-language app for learning the classic anthology of 100 poems: study one poem deeply each day, lock it in with quizzes, and collect each mastered poem as a beautiful illustrated card. About five minutes a day. ■ Today's poem, in full Each day opens one poem with everything on the table: the original text, its reading, the kimariji (deciding syllables used in karuta), the poet, an original modern-Japanese translation, and a bite-sized note. Read it slowly, then head straight into the quiz. ■ Quizzes that lock it in Answer two four-choice quizzes (first half to second half, and the reverse) to earn the poem's card. The choices are carefully built so nothing leaks the answer — no length giveaways, no kimariji highlights. Miss one, read the explanation, and try again. A once-a-day hint (the kimariji) is there when you need it. ■ Reviews arrive right before you forget Learned poems return automatically at growing intervals — 1, 3, 7, then 14 days (spaced repetition). Usually four review questions a day, a few more on catch-up days; the whole daily session stays around five minutes. The app handles all scheduling — just show up. ■ Weak poems gather in one place Miss a poem twice in review and it lands in your Weak Cards list. Clear it with two straight correct answers in a drill set. You can always see exactly where you struggle. ■ A gallery of 100 poets Every card carries an original poet illustration. Poems arrive with a presentation rank (Tsune, Miyabi, Shu, Maboroshi) — better-known poems get grander reveals — and cards you fully graduate earn a gold frame through polish quizzes. Ranks are purely presentational: every card is obtained deterministically through daily play.
