About
Family Budget is a budgeting app built around one idea: logging an expense should take one tap, not a trip through a category menu. FREQUENCY FIRST, NOT TAXONOMY Every other budget app organizes its input screen the way an accountant would — Food, Transport, Shopping, drill down, drill down again. But when you're standing at the till, you're not thinking "which category is this." You're thinking "lunch again." So we sort the input screen by how often you actually use each item. Your top items sit right under your thumb; everything else folds away. Tap one, it's logged. It learns from your own history, not from an average user's. The layout adapts to the last 90 days of your spending, so it drifts as your life does. Don't agree with it? Pin any item to the top, or push one out of the way — your call always beats the algorithm. A DAILY REVIEW, WRITTEN FOR YOU Every day you get a short plain-language review of your spending — what you spent, where it concentrated, how it compares to the same day last week, and whether any category has run past its budget. You don't have to write anything. There's a small entry if you want to add a thought, but skipping is completely fine. It's a review, not a chore. If you'd rather not be online, the review still works — it falls back to a locally computed summary. No blank screens, no error popups. EVERYTHING ELSE • Family members — tag each entry to a person and see who spent what this month • Budgets that mean something — set a monthly cap per category and see days remaining and how much you can still spend per day, plus a nudge when you're burning it too fast • Savings plans — six modes: Fixed, 365 Days, 52 Weeks, Increasing, Random and Flexible. Pure check-in tracking: the app never touches your real money and is not connected to any bank or payment account • Faster entry when you want it — snap a receipt or say it out loud, and AI fills in the amount and category for you to confirm. Or paste bill text and let it read that instead • Built-in calculator — type 12+8×3 straight into the amount field • Bring your history with you — import a CSV exported from another budgeting app. Columns and text encoding are detected for you, duplicates are skipped, and if anything goes wrong the whole import rolls back • Export anytime — your data leaves as a plain CSV. It's yours • Nine themes, including four with a little mascot who reacts to how your day went • Ten languages OFFLINE FIRST Everything is written to your device first, so the app works with no signal and never makes you wait on the network. If you sign in, your data syncs to the cloud as a backup. FREE, AND QUIET ABOUT IT Every feature above is free in this first version. No ads. No subscription. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs — we didn't ship any. Location is optional and off-limits until you allow it. When on, we save only the place name — never your coordinates. You can turn it off in Settings at any time.
