Sip is a café app for Los Angeles that answers the question every other café app skips: which café is actually worth going to? Most ratings are a single number stitched together from anonymous reviews. You don't know what those people drank, or whether they even went. Sip is built the other way round. The unit of content is a sip: one drink, at one café, with a photo and a rating. A café's score comes from real, logged visits — so it tells you something you can act on. THOUSANDS OF REAL LA CAFÉS The map covers cafés across Los Angeles, built from open map data and checked against real listings — coffee shops, roasteries, matcha bars, tea houses, boba and bakeries. RATE THE DRINK, NOT THE VIBE Log what you ordered, add a photo, rate it. Over time a café's page fills up with the drinks people actually liked, so you walk in knowing what to ask for. YOU HAVE TO BE THERE A sip can only be posted while you are physically at the café. That is the whole point — it is what keeps the ratings honest. FRIENDS WHOSE TASTE YOU TRUST See where friends have been and what they ordered. Share cafés, build lists together, and get a recommendation from a person instead of an average. BADGES THAT COME FROM WHAT YOU DRINK Your profile grows out of your own habits — your regular café, the drink family you keep coming back to, the people you go with. YOURS TO CONTROL Every sip is public, friends-only, or private, and you choose per sip. You can hide your presence entirely, export everything you have ever put in, and delete your account from inside the app. Sip is operated by Ottoco LLC.
