About
Kinemetron helps film photographers screen vintage camera shutter timing before and after service. MEASURE SLOW SHUTTERS Listen for the opening and closing transients of mechanical shutters from 1 second through 1/15 second. Compare measured and nominal duration, percent deviation, and stop error. CHECK CONSISTENCY Repeat each speed and keep a local history by camera. Each camera has its own statistics, deviation trend, and measurement archive. ORGANIZE YOUR CAMERAS Create up to three camera profiles for free, switch cameras directly from Measure, and keep every result attached to the right body. Kinemetron Pro unlocks unlimited cameras and CSV export with one lifetime purchase. EXPERIMENTAL IPHONE CAMERA For faster shutter speeds, position the iPhone camera at the open film gate to estimate a light pulse from guide-region frame luminance. Resolution is one captured frame. Camera results are always labeled experimental and should be verified with a specialist shutter tester. SHARE DEBUG CAPTURES Export a raw PCM WAV and JSON analysis sidecar when you want to backtest a shutter recording. Nothing is uploaded automatically. HONEST LIMITS Microphone timing cannot reliably resolve fast shutters. Camera mode is an experimental frame-level estimate and cannot measure focal-plane curtain travel or exposure uniformity. Kinemetron is a screening aid, not calibrated service equipment. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Audio and camera frames are analyzed on your device and are not uploaded automatically. Measurements and debug captures stay local unless you choose to export them.
