SoundLevel uses microphone amplitude to provide an approximate uncalibrated sound-level estimate in dB. Log sessions and compare how your estimates change across places and time. SoundLevel is not A-weighted, calibrated, or a certified measurement instrument. Values can vary by device, case, placement, and environment. Do not use the app for safety, occupational compliance, medical, or legal decisions. This update fixes a startup crash that could occur right after allowing microphone access, especially with Bluetooth headphones connected. The meter now recovers gracefully if the microphone has trouble starting, and it restarts cleanly when your audio route changes.
