WHAT LINGERS - PERSONAL TIME RIVER DIARY What Lingers is a beautiful, privacy-first journal app designed to capture the true warmth of your days. We believe logging memories should be effortless and rich. By breaking away from rigid grids, we built a flowing Time River timeline where your thoughts, photos, videos, voice notes, and GPS footprints fuse seamlessly with Apple Watch integration and private cloud sync. TODAY - RECORD INSTANT MOMENTS The Today tab minimizes the effort required to record your life. Capture text, high-resolution photos, videos, and voice memos instantly. Speak naturally and the real-time speech recognition engine will transcribe your voice into text. The app also captures GPS coordinates and resolves them into readable locations. Discover past memories with the Surprise Review daily widget, which displays historical entries like On This Day Last Year. All your daily entries are stored in the Today's Fragments section at the bottom. RIVER - A FLOWING TIMELINE In the River tab, your memories flow down an elegant linear time axis. Ditch the rigid list views and browse your photos, audio waveforms, video previews, and text blended together in a stream. Filter your time river by the past 30 days or specific months. The AI Memory Letters feature (Plus) summarizes your weekly and monthly memories into warm digests. The Annual Record Heatmap tracks your logging consistency using a grid, complete with data anchors for total entries and active days. ECHO - MAPS, PHOTOS, AND VOICES The Echo tab brings sensory dimensions to your history. Map your memories using standard, satellite, hybrid, or terrain layers to trace your travel routes. Track your recording counts on the Data Anchors dashboard. The Photo Wall lets you shuffle images randomly to rediscover forgotten details. Audio Barrage floats your voice notes as bubbles that can be played individually or continuously via the Memory Radio. A Monthly Active Calendar shows your daily check-in patterns. LIBRARY - MULTI-DIMENSIONAL SEARCH Instantly retrieve any record with cross-filtering by media type, custom tags, and date ranges. The smart query engine searches titles, text, locations, and dates. You can also star important memories or archive daily notes to keep your main timeline clean. APPLE WATCH SYNC Record voice memos directly on your Apple Watch when you are away from your phone. Audio files sync silently to your phone in the background, accompanied by a status notification. PRIVACY & SECURITY Your private diary remains private. The app runs a dual-engine storage system, saving data locally via SwiftData and mirroring it to an SQLite database sandbox on your device. We have no access to your files. Secure your notes with Face ID biometric locks. You can back up your database using private WebDAV cloud sync, which transfers data directly to your personal cloud without intermediate servers. Export your entire journal and media assets at any time in a ZIP format.
