Also in this update: • Look up any word in a definition or example sentence while you are still trying to recall the answer — words that would give the answer away stay closed until you reveal it. • Readings are spoken correctly again for words listed with a suffix, such as 練習 (renshuu). • The level check no longer shows a fixed number of questions — it ends as soon as it has enough information to place you. • New learners now start at N5 by default, instead of N4. • A small number of words that a single image can't reliably represent — counters, dates, and bare numerals — have been removed.
