mixPrimer turns a raw multitrack recording into clean, mix-ready stems — automatically. Load the separate instrument tracks from your session, or a whole-band live take, and mixPrimer identifies every instrument on its own, detects the tempo and musical key, and treats each track into polished per-instrument stems and grouped family buses. Preview everything in a built-in mixer, then export the stems to finish the mix in your own DAW. It primes your mix. You finish it. WHAT IT DOES • Auto-identifies instruments — no manual labeling. Drums, bass, guitars, keys, vocals and more, sorted into family buses. • Detects tempo (BPM) and musical key straight from your tracks. • Treats every track — EQ, compression, gating and routing chosen per instrument. • Multi-mic aware: kick in/out, snare top/bottom, DI/amp, layered guitar takes — blended intelligently into one stem. • Loudness-normalized, headroom-safe stems that drop straight into any DAW. • A built-in mixer to preview the family buses with per-bus volume, mute and solo, colored waveforms and a bar ruler. • A technical report: detected tempo and key, per-family loudness before/after, and the exact processing applied to every stem. TWO WAYS IN • Studio / Session Tracks — separate instrument tracks become per-instrument stems and family buses. • Live Recording — one stereo band take becomes a level-balanced whole-mix master, same length in and out. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs on your device. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no third-party tracking. Your recordings and stems never leave your iPhone, iPad or Mac — mixPrimer works fully offline. IMPORT & EXPORT Import a folder or an archive (ZIP, 7z, RAR, TAR) of tracks, or audio files directly — WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC and Ogg/Opus. Export stems as WAV, AIFF or FLAC, optionally as a single ZIP. A technical report ships with every export. mixPrimer delivers processed stems for you to mix in your own DAW. It does not master or create a final mix.
