Dictato turns spoken words into editable text for messages, notes, and everyday writing. Add the Dictato keyboard, enable its microphone session in the app, and dictate into supported text fields. Choose a writing mode to keep the result close to your speech or give it a more polished finish. - Dictate from the Dictato keyboard in supported apps. - Choose modes such as Raw, Clean, and Polished. - Keep favorite modes within reach. - Switch between typing and dictation. - Preview text before inserting it when preview is enabled. - Recover interrupted dictations when audio was saved. - Choose a keyboard layout and recording-button position that suit you. Dictato requires an account with active service access and an internet connection for cloud dictation. A paid plan may be required. Downloading the app does not include a subscription. On iOS, enable the microphone session in Dictato before controlling dictation from the keyboard. The microphone can remain active while that ready session is enabled. Cloud dictation sends audio and text to Dictato and third-party AI providers, including OpenAI. Microphone permission and keyboard Full Access are needed for cloud dictation. Basic keyboard typing and the next-keyboard control remain available without Full Access. Always review generated text, especially names, numbers, and sensitive information.
