Memolight is a Safari extension that helps you remember people and text you encounter on the web by adding personal notes, short labels, and color markers. On built-in supported community sites, Memolight displays a subtle marker next to detected usernames and authors. Open a marker to view, create, or edit a note without leaving the page. You can also select text and save it as a phrase memo. On other domains, text markers work only after you explicitly add the domain and grant access. New memos can include a sanitized source URL, page title, and a short surrounding text snippet, helping you remember the original context and reopen the source later. Memolight also keeps the latest 20 versions of memo-related changes, allowing you to review previous edits, restore older versions, and recover deleted memos. The management page lets you search, filter, sort, and edit saved notes, review recent changes, manage supported and custom sites, inspect local storage usage, and control synchronization and backups. When enabled, supported memo data is encrypted on your device before being sent directly to your hidden Google Drive app-data space. Memolight uses only the Google Drive app-data scope and cannot view or modify your normal Drive files. Sync data does not pass through a developer-operated server, and no separate Memolight account is required. Privacy: Without sync, your notes and settings remain in Safari extension storage on your device. Memolight does not sell user data, display ads, or use external analytics or tracking. Website access is used only on built-in supported sites and custom domains that you explicitly add and enable. Source context is saved only when you choose to create a memo; Memolight does not collect your general browsing history.
