Lens Fungus Guard: Camera Care

About

Are your lenses quietly growing fungus right now? Lens Fungus Guard turns local humidity into one clear answer - SAFE, WATCH, or ACT - for each lens and camera body you own, so you know when to act before permanent damage sets in. Lens fungus etches optical coatings, and once it starts the damage is often permanent. The catch: it is not about today's humidity. Spores wake up after several damp days in a row, so the real danger builds over time inside your bag, shelf, or dry box - exactly where you cannot see it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add your gear: pick your storage (sealed with desiccant, open shelf, camera bag, or dry cabinet) and gear type (modern sealed, standard, or vintage). 2. Lens Fungus Guard pulls recent humidity and temperature for your location. 3. You get a single verdict - SAFE, WATCH, or ACT - with the reason and the action to take, like when to recharge your silica gel or air your gear in indirect light. Under a minute to set up. No account required. CORE FEATURES Today's Risk Verdict A single answer plus the why - effective storage humidity and recent exposure, read at a glance instead of guessing from a bare hygrometer. Storage-Aware Reasoning The same weather means different risk for a vintage lens on an open shelf versus a sealed body with fresh desiccant. Your setup shapes the verdict. Clear Actions Plain next steps - recharge desiccant, add ventilation, or bring gear into indirect light - instead of raw numbers to interpret. PRO FEATURES Upgrade to Pro for deeper insight: - Track a full kit of lenses and bodies, each with its own verdict - 7-day risk forecast so you see a damp spell coming - Desiccant recharge countdown per item - High-humidity spell push alerts - Rolling exposure history and trends - Per-item action log for sun and recharge dates PRIVACY FIRST - No account, no login - All data stored locally on your device - Location is used only to fetch humidity and temperature data, never stored on any server - No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics Lens Fungus Guard is an informational moisture-risk guide based on public weather data and general fungus-growth principles. It does not measure the inside of your equipment and does not guarantee any outcome. A hygrometer in your storage is the only true reading. It is not a substitute for hands-on inspection and camera servicing. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
