• Apple Music player (Premium): the dashboard has a new music block — playback, your playlists and recently played. You choose where it plays via AirPlay right in the app; the volume is the system volume, so it applies to a HomePod as well. Requires an Apple Music subscription • Audio for RTSP cameras: cameras streaming G.711 or AAC now have sound too — you turn it on with a button in the camera detail. It plays only there and switches off when you close the detail, so you don't end up with four cameras talking at once on the wall • Listen on HomeKit cameras: until now the audio came on only while you were talking and was muted again after the call. The detail view now has a button for listening on its own • When camera audio is playing, the music stops and starts again once you turn the audio off — only if it was really playing before • Dark app icon (iOS 18+): a dark version of the icon is used on a dark Home Screen • Room name on tiles: the room appears in small type under the device name. It is left out when the room has the same name as the device, and for groups whose members are in different rooms • Blinds in steps of one percent: both the position and the slat tilt are set in steps of 1% instead of 5% • New languages: British English, Swedish, Dutch and Hebrew — the app is now available in 14 languages. Hebrew is the first right-to-left language, so the whole layout is mirrored in it • A review of every language: 267 fixes across twelve languages — grammar, the forms used by live counters and the rename of Apple ID to today's Apple Account • Thermometers: the settings now explain why a HomePod isn't among them — Apple doesn't make its temperature available to third-party apps, only the Home app can get to it • A custom device icon now applies to tiles as well: you pick it in the Lights and switches settings or in the 3D floor plan editor, and it shows up in both places. It works for groups from the Home app too • Locks have a menu like blinds: tapping the tile, or the icon in the floor plan, opens Lock and Unlock as separate items instead of the toggle you had until now. For gates and garage doors it's Open and Close • Open door on the locks that can do it (Nuki, tedee): you turn it on for a particular lock in the settings and try it out right there. On the tile it is then triggered by touching and holding, not by tapping, so it can't be set off by accident on the wall • The lock state updates on its own — unlocking with a key or from another app shows up right away • Animated launch screen (iPad): when the app starts, a little house folds together and turns into the dashboard. Tap to skip it • Tiles are the same height even where a device has the same name as its room

About

Turn a wall-mounted iPad into a control panel for your Apple Home smart home. Cameras, heating, lights, blinds, locks, weather and the family calendar on one screen. CAMERAS • RTSP cameras outside HomeKit: standalone cameras that never reach Apple Home. Enter the stream address and the tile shows live video. Supports H.264 over RTSP: Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Axis, TP-Link Tapo and Synology restreams. • Camera discovery: the app scans your network — with ONVIF it finds the address itself, otherwise it tries the usual paths. • Audio for RTSP cameras (new): those with G.711 or AAC now have sound, switched on in the camera detail and off when you close it. • HomeKit cameras: auto-refreshing previews, the Live button switches them all to a live stream, listen and talk in the detail. Add an RTSP address for a sharper picture with no time limit. • Time-lapse from an RTSP camera: up to 12 hours, saved as one video in Photos. • Two cameras free, HomeKit and RTSP combined. HOME • Thermostats: current and target temperature in half-degree steps; thermometers in °C and °F (2 free each). • Lights and switches: bulbs, outlets, fans and more, grouped by room; a Home app group as a single tile (4 free). Dimmable lights add brightness and color (Premium). • Blinds and shutters: position and slat tilt now in 1% steps, including Matter bridges — KNX/1Home (4 free). • Security: windows, doors, gates and sensors as one item with an Open / All closed state (4 free). Alarm with Home / Away / Night / Off modes, free and unlimited. • Sensors: humidity, air quality, water leak, smoke, CO/CO₂, light level and motion (4 free). • Scenes with one tap; an active scene stays highlighted as long as it matches your devices (2 free). • Weather with a six-day forecast. • New: each device shows its room in small type and can have its own icon. LOCKS AND GATES Door locks, gates and garage doors (4 free). New: a tap opens a menu with separate lock and unlock, or open and close for gates. Supported locks (Nuki, tedee) can unlatch the door with a long press. 3D FLOOR PLAN (PREMIUM) Upload a render of your home and place devices on it — control them by tapping right in the plan. Thermostats show the temperature, open windows and doors glow orange. Up to five floors, custom icons. Tip: create the render from your floor plan in ChatGPT. MUSIC (PREMIUM, NEW) An Apple Music player: your playlists, recently played and recommendations. Pick where it plays over AirPlay — a HomePod, for example. Requires an Apple Music subscription. CALENDAR A weekly overview of your shared family calendar (three days on iPhone), the next event highlighted and countdowns to important days. 24/7 DISPLAY AND APPEARANCE The screen sleeps after inactivity and wakes on touch, the front camera or a HomeKit motion sensor. Light and dark mode follow your iPad, plus a new dark app icon. Custom background, icon and text colors, rearranged blocks (Premium). BACKUP Save your setup to iCloud and load it on another device with the same Apple Account; with Premium you can also share it as a file. PREMIUM (YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION, $9.99) Unlocks the 3D floor plan, music, light brightness and color, rearranging blocks, separate layouts for iPad and iPhone and sharing your backup as a file — and removes the count limits. The free version is not a trial. PRIVACY The app collects no data and has no accounts or sign-up. Everything stays on your device; camera video travels directly over your network. The only outgoing service is weather, fetched anonymously. The app is available in 14 languages — 2.4 adds British English, Swedish, Dutch and Hebrew. Requires an iPad or iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Controlling devices needs a home set up in Apple Home; RTSP cameras work without one. Designed mainly for a wall-mounted iPad in landscape.
