New version 1.6.1 → 1.7.0

Word study now opens the right Hebrew or Greek entry. The King James Version is built in with its Strong's tags and opens on first launch, and the Strong's sheet shows how many verses use a word, with the full list one tap away. Translations whose word links pointed at the wrong entries no longer offer word study; a note offers to switch you to one that does. Openly licensed translations now show their license and a link to its terms, reading pages use a warmer paper tone, and Silo Bible has a new app icon.

About

Tap a word in the King James Version and see the Hebrew or Greek behind it: the Strong's entry with the original-language word, transliteration, definition, KJV usage, and the other verses where it appears. The Lutherbibel 1912 and Reina-Valera 1909 downloads open Strong's entries the same way. Silo Bible carries twenty-one translations in six languages — English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. Among them: King James, American Standard, Geneva 1599, Darby, Young's Literal, Douay-Rheims, Berean Standard, Lutherbibel 1912, Louis Segond 1910 and Reina-Valera 1909. The King James Version and the World English Bible are built in, so you can read on first launch; the rest download once from an open-licensed catalog and then need no connection. For study: • Put two installed translations side by side, lined up verse by verse. Where one translation merges or omits a verse, the column says so instead of shifting the text. • Search the whole text of a translation, or type a reference such as John 3:16 to jump straight there. • Highlight in four colors, keep margin notes (plain, or set in a handwriting-style face), bookmark passages, and return to exactly where you stopped. For every day: • Follow a reading plan, catch up one missed day, keep the history of earlier plans, and set an optional daily reading reminder. • Memorize verses with spaced-repetition cards. • Add the Verse of the Day widget for a new World English Bible verse on your Home Screen or Lock Screen each day. • Hear a chapter read aloud with the voices on your iPhone or one of three natural voices you can download. The verse being read stays in view, with chapter controls and a sleep timer. Bible Chat, on iPhones with Apple Intelligence (iOS 26 or later), answers from your installed translations and cites the verses it used; on other iPhones the Chat tab says why on-device chat is unavailable. Bible Chat can optionally use your own provider key (Bring Your Own Key). It is off by default; only after you consent are your questions and the retrieved passages sent to that provider, and your key is kept in the system Keychain. The privacy page lists every provider and exactly what is sent. No account and no analytics. Notes, highlights, reading plans and memory cards are stored on this iPhone. Translation and voice downloads, chat you route to your own provider, and links you open are its only network use. One purchase covers iPhone and Mac, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. Scripture texts come from eBible.org, public domain or openly licensed; Strong's dictionaries from OpenScriptures.
