About

The Ryder Method β€” Cue Ball Aiming System Stop guessing where to aim. The Ryder Method is a complete, easy-to-learn aiming system for pool and billiards that replaces vague "ghost ball" guesswork with simple, repeatable reference points you can actually see on the cue ball. Whether you shoot in a BCA or APA league, run your own table at home, or you are just getting started, this app gives you a clear answer for every shot you face. At the heart of the method is one idea: split the difference. Find dead center on the cue ball β€” your B point β€” then split the distance to each edge to set two more fixed references, A and C. From there, every cut on the table fits onto a simple ladder, and you move up it as the angle gets steeper: B β€” the straight reference line. Aim through both balls to the rail. Find it first on every shot. A or C β€” for cuts up to about 45 degrees. Shift to the split point on the side you are cutting toward. The Horizon shot β€” for cuts steeper than 45 degrees. Aim the center of the cue ball at the outside edge of the object ball. Edge to edge β€” for the thinnest cuts, approaching 90 degrees. Line up the right edge of the cue ball to the left edge of the object ball to find the 90-degree contact point. Learn the four rungs and you have a dependable answer for any ball on the table. What's inside The Cue Ball Aiming Gauge. A printable, true-size reference marked with the A, B, and C points. View it in the app, then print it at actual size and cut it out to train your eye at the table. The Ryder Method Guide. A full illustrated guide that walks through the system one shot at a time, with a clear diagram for every shot type and a quick-reference page you can keep in your case. Audio lessons. Learn away from the table with two narrated lessons: "3 Shots That Rule the Table" and the complete "Ryder Method" audiobook. Background playback and lock-screen controls let you listen anywhere. Dark mode. A clean, easy-on-the-eyes dark interface built for the pool hall, with a light or system option in settings. Who it is for The Ryder Method is made for league and recreational players who want to pocket more balls with less guesswork β€” from newcomers learning to aim to seasoned players sharpening a repeatable, pressure-proof routine. It also covers where to strike the cue ball for position, so you are always thinking one shot ahead. About The Ryder Method comes from Robert Ryder of Ryder Publishing β€” billiards instructor, tournament director, and published author of The Ryder Method and Split the Difference.
