At the heart of the method is one idea: split the difference. Find dead center on the cue ball — your B point — then split the distance to each edge to set two more fixed references, A and C. From there, every cut on the table fits onto a simple ladder, and you move up it as the angle gets steeper: B — the straight reference line. Aim through both balls to the rail. Find it first on every shot. A or C — for cuts up to about 45 degrees. Shift to the split point on the side you are cutting toward. The Horizon shot — for cuts steeper than 45 degrees. Aim the center of the cue ball at the outside edge of the object ball. Edge to edge — for the thinnest cuts, approaching 90 degrees.
