A fresh new look, with a calm design like a paper notebook. What's new - A redesigned look throughout (paper tones, ink navy, bookmark red) - A larger, clearer date, with a bookmark mark on today's page - Previous day, next day, and "Today" buttons (with an external keyboard: ⌘←, ⌘→, and ⌘T) - A floating control bar over your handwriting, so it no longer overlaps the Apple Pencil palette - The mini calendar now shows how much you wrote each day - Flag memo cards now show their priority - A clear frame and banner while you are recording a flag - A welcome introduction on first launch, and "How to Use" in Settings - Dark and tinted app icons - Handwriting ink is easier to see in dark mode The free version now allows 14 pages (up from 10) - You can write up to 14 pages, which is two weeks' worth - Your remaining pages are always shown - When you reach the limit, you are told before you start writing. Previously, your writing could disappear after you wrote it Improvements and fixes - Fixed the flag color setting not applying in the sidebar - When saving fails, Shiori now shows "Unsaved" and lets you retry - Improved a case where a line drawn right after switching dates might not be saved - Fixed an issue where moving to another date while recording a flag could turn another page's handwriting into a flag - The mini calendar is now lighter on resources - The header now fits on small iPhone screens We'll keep working to make Shiori easier to use every day. About
Shiori is a simple handwritten planner app for Apple Pencil, designed to keep your schedule and notes together. Open it and your page for today is ready. Write plans, diary entries, work notes, ideas, and sketches freely, just like in a paper notebook. The calm design uses only paper tones, ink navy, and a bookmark red. Key features - Open today's page right away and start writing - Move to the previous or next day with one tap, and jump back with "Today" - Choose a blank, ruled, or grid background - Look back at the same date, or the same weekday, from last year - Flag memos with deadlines and priorities - In-app events, or sync with the built-in Calendar (events appear above your page) - A mini calendar that shows how much you wrote each day - Term tags and fiscal-year display, handy for teachers and students - Past-date lock to prevent accidental writing - Dark mode support (your ink colors stay as written) - Handwriting stays easy to find when you rotate your device Shiori is designed mainly for iPad in landscape, where you get plenty of room for events, the calendar, and your handwritten page. It also works in portrait, with a narrower writing area and sidebar. It runs on iPhone too, but because of the smaller screen we recommend iPad for everyday handwriting. The free version lets you save up to 14 handwritten pages (two weeks' worth). Upgrade to Premium to save pages without limits. It is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. All your records are stored on your device and are never sent to any server.
