On iPhone, leaving Matadoor now marks your agent session as Paused on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, instead of showing a status that can no longer update. Coming back reconnects and restores the live status, even if the app was closed in the meantime, and a session that ended while you were away is cleared. The demo now runs a generic coding agent on a sample project with a fuller terminal session, and your Mac lists this device as Matadoor on iPhone or Matadoor on iPad when you approve it.

About
Matadoor drives a real terminal on your Mac from your iPhone or iPad. Scan the QR code shown by the free Matadoor Host menu-bar app, approve the phone on your Mac, and you have a live shell: no SSH keys, no port forwarding, no account. Start any of the four supported command-line coding agents installed on your Mac, watch their output scroll, and answer the yes-or-no question one is waiting on with a single Approve or Deny. This is a full PTY terminal emulator, not a chat window. Esc, Tab, Ctrl-C and the arrow keys are one tap away, and you can search a session's transcript without touching what is running. It does more than the terminal. Three panels read the paired Mac directly: live load, memory, uptime and listening ports; a file browser with previews; and git working-tree status with recent commits. How the link works: your phone and your Mac talk over one end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer connection, direct whenever possible and through a relay otherwise. The relay only ever forwards ciphertext. You pick the relay on the Mac: n0's public relays (the default), a relay you host yourself, or direct-only with no relay at all. Matadoor runs no servers and has no accounts, and your sessions never reach us. While Matadoor is open, a banner appears the moment an agent needs input or finishes. When you leave the app, iOS suspends the connection, and with no server of ours in the middle nothing can wake your phone. On iPhone, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island keep showing your latest agent session, marked Paused until you come back. Your sessions keep running on the Mac, where Matadoor Host alerts you, and reopening Matadoor reconnects. On iPad, your sessions sit in a sidebar next to a full-size terminal, in any orientation. No Mac nearby yet? The built-in demo session runs a simulated terminal, an agent that asks for approval, and system, file and git panels filled with sample data, all on your device. To set up the Mac side, download Matadoor Host free from ohmslaw.net/apps/matadoor/download or run: brew install flowmar47/tap/matadoor. It is notarized by Apple and lives in the menu bar. You pay once for the phone app and nothing is held back for later; Matadoor Host costs nothing. Requires iOS or iPadOS 26, plus a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26.
