OSTC

About

OSTC is the app for Organized Steps Towards Community, a registered nonprofit in the Twin Cities working with Muslim youth. OPEN TO ANYONE Install it and you can read what OSTC is, see what we run through the year, and write to us directly. Ask about joining, volunteering, partnering with us, or bringing a younger brother along. No account and no invitation needed for any of that. TAKING PART If you want to join the programmes themselves, you can apply from the app. A community leader reads the application and gets back to you. Once you are approved, the member side opens up. EVENTS See what is coming up, say whether you are going, and add it to your calendar. If a time or venue changes, you hear about it. Leaders check members in at the door, and your attendance builds a streak on your profile. ANNOUNCEMENTS Word from leadership in one place instead of scattered across group chats. New ones arrive as a notification. GROUP CHAT Every group you belong to has its own conversation: photos, voice notes, files, polls, replies and reactions. Messages can be translated on your device for members who are more comfortable in another language. DUA WALL Ask the community to make dua for you. Your name can stay off the request when it reaches the wall. A leader reviews every request before it is posted. QUESTIONS FOR LEADERSHIP Send a question to leadership without your name on it, and they answer it on the home screen for everyone. You get a notification when your answer comes back. YOUR PROFILE Your attendance history, your current streak, and the events you have been part of. SAFETY AND MODERATION Agreeing to the community rules is required before you can post anything. Every message, dua request and question is filtered before it is stored, and anything that breaks the rules is refused. You can report any post to leadership and block any member. Leadership reviews reports within 24 hours and can remove both the post and the member who wrote it. Organized Steps Towards Community is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
