About

You just landed a fish, spotted an unfamiliar species in your tank, or pulled a catch from the dock — and you need to know what it is. FishLens reads the body, fins, and markings, names the species in seconds, and opens a field-guide profile covering habitat, edibility, and fishing tips, right at the water or the aquarium. WHY ANGLERS AND AQUARISTS USE FISHLENS Identify a fish in seconds. Aim at the body, fins, or a clear side profile and FishLens names the species with a confidence indicator, then opens a field-guide profile: common and scientific names, family, freshwater or saltwater habitat, range, size, diet, and facts. From a dock panfish to a reef dweller in your tank, you finally know what you have. Know what's catchable — and what to release. Rules differ from water to water. Each identified fish gets a plain-language note on edibility awareness and handling, so you have context before keeping or releasing. When confidence is low, FishLens says so instead of guessing — and always points you back to your local fishing regulations. Tips for the species in front of you. Each profile adds practical context — typical habitat, season, bait and method notes for anglers, and basic water and tank-mate notes for aquarists — for real lakes, coasts, and home tanks. Built for both worlds. FishLens works the same on a riverbank, at a tide pool, or before an aquarium. One app covers freshwater, saltwater, and ornamental fish. Keep a catch log that's all yours. Save every fish you identify into a personal catch log on your device. Record the species, spot, date, and your notes; track the species and families you've found, and earn badges as you complete new families. Learn as you go. FishLens includes free in-app guides any fish lover can read: how confidence works, how to tell look-alikes apart, how to read fins and markings, and how to handle fish gently — for catch-and-release and tank fish. HOW IT WORKS 1. Capture or pick a photo — frame the whole fish or a clear side profile in good light. 2. FishLens identifies the likely species and shows a confidence indicator; confirm or adjust by hand. 3. Open the field-guide profile for traits, habitat, edibility awareness, and tips. 4. Save it to your catch log and keep exploring. PRIVACY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND Your catch log, history, and preferences are stored on your device. There are no accounts and no third-party trackers or advertising SDKs. When online recognition is enabled, the scanned photo is sent securely to our recognition service to look up the fish, then is not retained and never used for ads or tracking. See the in-app Privacy Policy for details. A NOTE ON SAFETY AND REGULATIONS FishLens is an educational identification tool, not a fishing-authority, medical, or food-safety service. Edibility notes are for general awareness only and can vary by location, season, size, water quality, and local contaminant advisories. Never rely on the app to decide whether a fish is safe to eat. Always follow your local fishing laws, size and bag limits, protected-species rules, and consumption advisories, and release protected or out-of-season fish. If illness from eating fish is suspected, contact a doctor or poison-control center immediately. SUBSCRIPTION FishLens Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Plans are offered weekly and annually (for example, $12.99 per week or $89.99 per year; promotional pricing may be available). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Prices may vary by region. Terms of Use (https://fishlens.app/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://fishlens.app/privacy) are also available inside the app. Start with a single photo — and get to know every fish you meet.
