Verbatism

About

Keep the word that caught your eye. Review it until you can ditch the card and use it in real life and writing. Add it yourself, or share a sentence from any app and pick the word. Optional AI when you want a tutor, not only a definition. Built for people who meet English every day — news, papers, docs, books — and want those words to stick. Not a stranger's list. Not a chatbot that explains once and forgets you. HOW IT WORKS 1. Capture — Highlight a sentence in Safari, News, Messages, or any app, and share it to Verbatism. Pick the word. We save the sentence, and the source when the host app provides one. 2. Remember — Short Review sessions with Forgot, Hard, Good, and Easy. Timing adapts to how well you know each word, so practice shows up when you would otherwise lose it. 3. Your context — Cards can show Where you found it. Optional examples can use your interests (law, sailing, cooking). Explain a word in your language when you want a tutor, not only a definition. FEATURES • Share from any app — Safari, News, Kindle, Messages, and the rest of the share sheet • Where you found it — the sentence, capture date, and source title or link when we have them • Dictionary definitions on the card, with your notes beside them • Adaptive Review — a real memory engine, not a fixed 3–7–14-day ladder • Daily reminder and a review streak you can see on the deck • Monthly Wrapped — a shareable snapshot of the words you captured and kept • Translation and Explain in your language (optional) • iCloud sync across your devices, plus a JSON export you can keep • Works offline. No account. WHAT IT ISN'T Not a curated vocabulary list. Not an in-app reader. Not a chatbot that explains a word once and forgets you. PRIVACY No account. Your words live on your device and in your iCloud. Optional AI actions send the word you are studying — plus your interests for examples, the stored English definition for Explain, or other saved definitions and examples for a deck quiz — never your name or a user id. On a real device those requests also send an App Attest key for this install to our proxy. The proxy uses your IP to rate-limit and in server logs. If analytics are on, TelemetryDeck gets anonymous product signals and a hashed install id — not your words.
