Barakah: Prayer Times & Qibla

About

Barakah is a private, Arabic-first companion for daily worship — accurate prayer times with the calculation method picked for your country automatically, an adhan that rings as an alarm, the Qur'an with audio, a Qibla compass, adhkar and du'as, the Hijri calendar, Zakat and more, all computed on your device with no account and no tracking. SEE EXACTLY WHAT BARAKAH STORES • Everything is computed on your device — no account, no tracking, nothing collected by us (the in-app Privacy Report lists the optional calls) • Core features work offline — prayer times, the Qibla, adhkar and the calendar need no connection • Your location is used only to calculate prayer times and the Qibla, and it stays on your device — the exceptions are nearby mosque search and nearby halal-food search, which send only your approximate area (rounded to about 1 km) when you tap to search THE ADHAN AS AN ALARM — EVEN WHEN THE APP IS CLOSED • On iOS 26 and later, with your permission, the adhan rings as a real system alarm, not a notification that’s easy to miss — it sounds even when Barakah is closed and even when your phone is on silent or in a Focus mode, and it keeps calling until you dismiss it • On earlier iOS versions the adhan still plays as an audible prayer notification • Choose a different sound for each prayer — the adhan for Fajr and Maghrib, a gentle chime for Dhuhr, silent for Isha — and pick between two muezzin voices REMINDERS THAT DON'T STOP • Your prayer reminders keep arriving even if you don't open Barakah for days — a background refresh tops them up so they never quietly run out • Optional reminders for Qiyam and Tahajjud (the last third of the night), suhoor/imsak and iftar in Ramadan, sunnah fasts (Mondays and Thursdays, the White Days, Ashura and Arafah), Islamic dates and events, and morning and evening adhkar • Every reminder is opt-in and configurable PRAYER TIMES & TRACKING • Accurate times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha • Multiple calculation methods (Umm al-Qura, Muslim World League, Egyptian, ISNA, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, and more) • The method and the Asr option (Shafi'i or Hanafi) follow your country automatically, and you can change them • Nudge each prayer by minutes to match your local mosque — kept when you change location • Next-prayer countdown and the Qiyam (last third of the night) • Track your daily prayers and build a streak QUR'AN • Read the full Qur'an in a clean, Arabic-first reader • Listen to recitation with a choice of reciters, verse-follow highlighting, and a Hifz (memorization) loop • Download recitations for offline listening, with Lock Screen playback controls QIBLA • Precise Qibla direction to the Kaaba from anywhere, with a live compass ADHKAR & DU'AS • Morning and evening adhkar and a collection of authentic du'as • A digital tasbih (prayer-bead) counter HIJRI CALENDAR & 99 NAMES • Today's Hijri date (Umm al-Qura) and Hijri⇄Gregorian conversion • The 99 Names of Allah ZAKAT & INHERITANCE (educational estimate) • Calculate Zakat on cash, gold, silver, business assets, receivables, and investments, with a gold or silver nisab basis • Understand Quranic inheritance shares for common family cases — always confirm the final distribution with a qualified scholar APPLE WATCH & WIDGETS • A next-prayer countdown on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch MORE WAYS TO REACH BARAKAH • Ask Siri for the next prayer, or start Prayer Mode without opening the app • Add a Next Prayer or Prayer Mode control to Control Center (iOS 18 and later) • Reach the Qibla, adhkar, the Qur'an, Zakat or the tasbih from Spotlight search • Touch and hold the app icon for the Qibla, adhkar, the Qur'an or the calendar UMRAH, HALAL PLACES & MORE • A step-by-step Umrah guide • Find halal places near you • An Islamic media directory Arabic-first, with full English support. The interface also comes in French, Indonesian, Urdu, Turkish and Malay (Turkish and Malay are new and still being refined).
