VoiceOver mode Dog Genome now has a VoiceOver mode, built to make the game quicker and calmer to play with a screen reader. Thank you to the VoiceOver players who helped shape this update. With VoiceOver on: • One stop per thing. Each dog, event, show, store item and exchange listing is a single swipe. You hear its name first, then its status. • Choose from a list. Double-tap the competitor, tier, theme or a breeding parent and a list opens, with a short status for each choice. Swiping up or down on the control still steps through the choices. • Actions where you need them. Extras such as Details, Compare and Favorite are in the Actions rotor. Every Enter, Keep, Rehome and Buy also works with a double-tap or its own button. • Confirm before spending. Coin purchases in the Store, Compare, Breeding, the DNA Lab, Dress Up, the Closet, the Dog Exchange (paid refreshes), Growing Up and Event Insight ask first. You can turn this off in Settings > VoiceOver. Competition entry fees are spoken on the Enter button and don't ask. • Screen Detail. Choose Brief (the default) or Detailed in Settings > VoiceOver. Detailed reads every element, as before. • Calmer play. Results are announced once. Puppy Rescue has no timer, and puppy reveals appear all at once. Recent Messages in Settings keeps a history. • The Collection groups Looks by coat color, so you can browse them in a few swipes. • Quick Compete, Bulk Results and Event Insight read as short lists instead of grids. • A rewritten Accessibility Guide in Settings. This covers Puppy Rescue, breeding, the Kennel and Nursery, Pet Detail, Compare, Dress Up, Fashion Shows, the Arena, Hall of Fame, the DNA Lab, the Store, the Collection and the Dog Exchange. Also in 1.1.0: • New Settings to keep messages on screen, change sound volume and skip celebrations. • Fresh installs follow your device's light or dark appearance. • You can share a dog's description as text. • Portrait fixes for some dogs. If you don't use VoiceOver, the game looks and plays the same, apart from these small fixes for everyone: • Clearing a breeding parent now leaves the slot empty. • Fashion Shows: Theme Sweep can now be completed, and the empty Tropical filter is gone. • Dress Up: "Enter a Fashion Show" takes you back to Fashion Shows instead of opening a second copy, and its messages now read like "Party Hat is on Rex." • The Props help text now says that matching props improve your Fashion Show odds. • Collector Editions ask you to confirm before you buy. • Compare no longer has the "Read one dog" row. • Quick Compete tiers you haven't unlocked now show a lock. • Scrolling the Dog Exchange no longer freezes on some saves. • Some messages now clear after 4 seconds instead of 8. • The Arena now scrolls all the way to the bottom. • On smaller iPhones, the Store coin balance shows in short form again.
