Wilco: ATC Radio Trainer

About

Sound like a pilot before you key the mic. Wilco is radio-call practice for student pilots: hear the controller, push to talk, say your call, and get graded element by element, by an app built to understand how pilots actually speak. Niner, tree, fife. Phonetic letters. Your own callsign. Your words, not a rigid script. KNOW YOU'RE CHECKRIDE READY Tell Wilco what you're flying toward: first solo, checkride, or getting current again. Your readiness score tracks how ready you sound, module by module, and shows you exactly which calls you keep missing. LEARN IT BEFORE YOU'RE TESTED Every drill starts with a Learn card: the canonical phrase, why it matters, and the FAA source it comes from: AIM chapter and Pilot/Controller Glossary entry, cited right on screen. PLAN THE DAYS TO YOUR CHECKRIDE Set your checkride date and Wilco counts down the days, on the Drills tab and in a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget next to your readiness score. WHAT'S FREE - Radio Fundamentals and ATIS, Clearance & Ground: 22 drills covering your callsign, frequencies, altitudes, the ATIS, taxi and hold-short readbacks. - The full guided loop: the controller speaks through a real radio-band effect, the mic arms, you talk, and every element is graded with a calm explanation. - Your readiness score, spaced review, and the checkride countdown and widget, with your own tail number in every prompt. - Type-to-respond for silent practice anywhere. - Your first full scenario flight: a towered departure from the ATIS to the departure handoff. WILCO PRO: TURN WEAK SPOTS INTO YOUR STRONGEST CALLS - All 60 drills: Tower, Departure & Flight Following, Non-Towered CTAF, and Edge & Emergency join the free modules. - All six scenario flights: departures, arrivals, pattern work, flight following, CTAF, and the go-around. - Fresh controller: on your flights, the controller says the same clearance in different words, so you learn the call and not the script. Runways, frequencies and altitudes never change. - A daily study plan: today's reviews, new drills and flights, counted back from your checkride date, with a reminder at the time you pick. - Weak-spot sessions: Wilco builds a drill session from the exact calls you keep missing. - Meaning-based grading: say it like a real pilot and get credit for what you conveyed, while safety-critical numbers like runways and frequencies are still checked word for word. - AI debrief after every flight: what happened, why it matters, and exactly how to say it better. CALM, LIKE REAL TRAINING SHOULD BE No angry controller gimmick. No shaming. Misses are amber, explained, and retryable. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Speech recognition runs on your iPhone. Practice audio never leaves the device. No account, no ads, no tracking. Free features never go online. The Pro features that use AI (meaning-based grading, fresh controller wording and the debrief) send only the practice data our privacy policy lists. PRICING Checkride Pass: $59.99 one time.
