About
Ferrion brings interactive computational fluid dynamics to your iPad. Add a shape, set the wind, and watch the flow develop in real time — all running locally on Apple silicon, with nothing sent to the cloud. Most simulation tools live behind expensive subscriptions and meter every run by the cloud-compute hour, so experimenting gets costly fast. Ferrion takes the opposite approach: it runs on the GPU you already own. Once you have it, you can run as many simulations as you like, as often as you like, at no extra cost. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Drop in built-in shapes (cube, cone, sphere), import your own STL models, or explore example scenarios. • Simulate both incompressible and compressible flow, from gentle breezes to supersonic • Watch airflow evolve live: 2D slices for velocity, pressure, and vorticity slices; 3D vector fields, streamlines, volume renders • Visualize Mach number, density, and shock structure • Read approximate aerodynamic forces — drag, lift, and coefficients — as the flow runs • Explore the flow from any angle with full 3D camera control and cut planes • Capture your results to photo or video to share or review, all with no watermarks RUNS ENTIRELY ON YOUR IPAD • Built from the ground up for Apple silicon and Metal • No account, no cloud upload, no internet required • No per-run charges and no subscription • Your models and your work stay on your machine WHO IT'S FOR Students learning fluid dynamics, makers and hobbyists exploring aerodynamics, RC, drone, and motorsport tinkerers, educators who want a flow simulator that's actually fun to drive, and anyone curious about how air and fluids move and interact with solid bodies. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Ferrion is designed for real-time exploration, learning, and early-design intuition. The force and coefficient readouts are useful for comparing shapes and building understanding, and are being actively refined toward validated accuracy across a wider range of conditions. Ferrion is a one-time purchase. Buy it once, and it's yours. Requires an iPad, running iPadOS 17 or later. What's New (release notes for 0.6) Welcome to the first release of Ferrion. This early version brings the core simulation experience to • Incompressible and compressible flow solvers • Built-in shapes and examples plus STL model import • Real-time visualization: slices, vector fields, streamlines, volume, vorticity, Mach, density, and shock • Approximate aerodynamic force readouts • Full 3D camera, cut planes, and video capture Thanks for trying Ferrion. This is just the beginning — feedback is very welcome.
