A small fix on the speaking screen. When Bolo asks you to say a word back, the line above the microphone could read like a tapping instruction. It now tells you to speak, which is the whole point of that screen. Nothing else has changed: one free session a day, no account, no card. If Punjabi Bolo has helped you find a few more words at the dinner table, a rating makes a real difference to an app this small. Thank you.

About
Punjabi Bolo is the foundation that gives heritage learners the courage to speak Punjabi with their family. This isn't an app that teaches Punjabi end to end, the family at the dinner table does that. What Punjabi Bolo does is hand the learner enough vocabulary, phrases, and pronunciation confidence to start the conversation, so when Nani asks how school went, there's an answer in Punjabi instead of silence. Built for heritage learners who read English fluently but stumble when speaking Punjabi. Five minutes a day. On-device. No accounts. A FREE PRACTICE SESSION EVERY DAY Download and start. Every day you get a full practice session, about ninety seconds drawn from the whole phrase library, and it stays free for as long as you want it. No account, no card, no catch. New installs also get a 3-day free trial of everything. After that, an annual subscription of £9.99 (or local equivalent) lifts the daily limit and opens the lessons, the 50 real conversations and the topic browser. There are no separate in-app purchases. Gurmukhi appears alongside transliteration, so you can find your footing either way. Bolo, the parrot, is the patient tutor. He repeats a phrase as many times as it takes. He doesn't grade, he doesn't tire, and he doesn't move on until you're ready. What's included in the subscription: Unlimited practice, as many sessions a day as you like Starter vocabulary for the conversations families actually have: greetings, food, school, weather, gurdwara visits 50 real conversations: visit Nani, order samosa, wish Papa happy birthday, hold your own at the dinner table Walk-through lessons that explain the grammar behind the phrases All 14 topic packs, to drill exactly what you need Gurmukhi script with optional transliteration On-device speech practice, audio never leaves the phone A say-it-back loop with Bolo the parrot Privacy: Data Not Collected. Speech recognition runs on-device. No analytics, no third-party trackers, no cloud sync. A small thing made by a Punjabi family who noticed the gap between what was understood at the table and what could be said back. If it helps a family find a few more words at that table, it's done its job. Subscription details Punjabi Bolo Annual is an auto-renewable subscription. Length: 1 year Free trial: 3 days for new subscribers Price: £9.99 per year (prices may vary by region; the exact price is always shown in the app before you purchase) Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
