Praesto

About

Most apps record the class so you can deal with it later. Praesto is for the hour itself: ask a question the moment you are lost, keep writing without falling behind, and walk out sure you got it. The hour you are sitting in is the expensive one. A three-hour graduate class costs hundreds of dollars in tuition. An hour of a working team costs more. Praesto is built so you leave understanding it, not planning to review it. WHILE IT IS STILL RUNNING - Ask about what was just said, with answers grounded in the room rather than the open web - Write or type beside the live transcript, with Apple Pencil on iPad - Attach slides, PDFs, and documents to a session and mark them up as it runs - The Flow map draws the discussion's topics as a living diagram, so you can see the shape of an argument at a glance - Serenity mode gives the whole page to your writing and brings the transcript, chat, or map up only when you want them SO YOU CAN STAY IN THE ROOM - Live transcription, so nothing depends on your handwriting speed - No extra hardware, just the iPhone, iPad, or Mac you already own - Transcription runs on your device: your conversations stay yours - Recording starts about three seconds after you tap WHEN IT ENDS - Praesto researches the questions that came up while you were busy listening - Meeting mode separates what was decided from what still needs looking up - Classes and meetings share one workspace, so Monday's meeting can talk to Tuesday's lecture WEEKS LATER - Turn any session into practice questions and review cards - Spaced review brings the material back before it fades - Search across every transcript, note, and document you have collected - Export notes and documents when it is time to share HOW YOU SHOW UP - Praesto tells your voice from the room and reports how much of a session you spoke - Every number in the speaking report is explained Built for people whose weeks hold both classes and meetings: MBA and graduate students, consultants, founders, and anyone who learns and decides for a living. Praesto is free to download. Questions or feedback: praestologica.com
