Rippley is a hyper-local, ephemeral social feed. Posts spread from phone to phone over Apple’s peer-to-peer mesh, nearby devices, not a central timeline in the cloud. HOW IT WORKS • New — Swipe through ripples from people near you. Skip, share, or boost what you like. • Seen — Revisit what you skipped, shared, or boosted, with clear outcome badges. • Create — Publish a short ripple that can hop to nearby Rippley users. • Activity — See your local stats (created, shared, skipped, boosted, relay, storage). • Settings — Profile, privacy, notifications, safety, and account tools. EPHEMERAL BY DESIGN Ripples carry a time-to-live. They expire and drop off your device when their TTL ends, built for moments, not permanent archives. TRUST & SAFETY • Posts are cryptographically signed; tampered payloads are rejected. • @handles are registered and verified against a lightweight identity service. • Report ripples, block handles, and enforce content rules at create time. • Optional country/city on your profile; location on new posts is opt-in. PRIVACY Post bodies stay on the mesh between devices. Handle registration (and optional anonymous weekly metrics, if you turn them on) use encrypted HTTPS. You control analytics upload and location attachment in Settings. RECOVERY & ACCOUNT Sign up with a unique @handle and recovery phrase. Back up your handle and phrase safely. Lock the app, rotate signing keys, or switch account from Settings when needed. REQUIREMENTS Rippley works best on iPhones with Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi enabled, within range of other Rippley users.
