About
PREMIUM — PURCHASE REQUIRED: All features described below are part of Pro and require a purchase: a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. How strong is your password, really? Type or paste it and get the honest answer in one second: a real entropy score, the time a cracking rig needs to break it, and the exact patterns that give it away. Most strength checkers grade length and character variety — the same naive math that calls "Password123!" a 79-bit fortress while a GPU rig finds it in under a second. PasswordStr instead decomposes your password the way a real cracker does: dictionary words hiding behind letter-for-symbol swaps, keyboard walks, sequential runs, repeats, and years all get priced at what they actually cost an attacker. Where a shortcut exists, the engine assumes the attacker takes it — so the verdict is a floor, never flattery. WHAT YOU GET • A 0–100 strength score calibrated to real attacks — "P@ssw0rd2024" looks complex but scores Weak, and you see exactly why • Time to crack under three explicit attackers: a GPU rig at 10 billion guesses per second, slow bcrypt hashing, and a rate-limited login page • The attacker's view — your password split into the exact spans a cracking rule matches, each priced in bits: "'qwerty' walks adjacent keys", "'1998' looks like a year — only ~136 are ever tried" • Honest entropy in bits: log2 of the guesses actually needed after discounting predictable patterns, not a flattering length-times-charset figure • Fixes ranked by payoff, each quantified — "replace 'monkey' with unrelated characters: +24 bits", "grow to 16 characters: +26 bits" • A generator built on the system cryptographic RNG — 8 to 64 characters, your choice of character classes, look-alike filtering, and a copy button that clears the clipboard after 60 seconds PERFECT FOR • Anyone about to reuse their usual password on one more account and wondering if it is still safe • IT and helpdesk people who need to show a colleague — not just tell them — why "Summer2024!" fails • Students and the security-curious learning what entropy and crack time actually mean • Building the one master password you will trust to guard everything else WHY NOT JUST TRUST THE METER ON A SIGNUP FORM? Those meters flatter you — most of them accept "P@ssw0rd!" as strong because it ticks the uppercase-digit-symbol boxes. PasswordStr checks your password against a wordlist of the most common passwords, expands leet-speak disguises, and prices every predictable span the way cracking software does. If the app says Strong, a cracking rig agrees. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Analysis runs entirely on your iPhone. What you type is never stored, logged, or transmitted — no account, no cloud, no analytics touching your passwords. The text field even opts out of iOS password saving. Generated passwords copy as local-only and expire from the clipboard after 60 seconds. PREMIUM (PURCHASE REQUIRED) PasswordStr requires a paid plan — weekly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Full access unlocks the complete toolkit: time-to-crack across all three attack models, the attacker's-view pattern breakdown, and the secure password generator. Type the password you have been worried about and get the honest verdict before an attacker does.
