Know why, not just what Every watering, planting, and harvest reminder has a "Why this task?" link showing the frost dates, planting windows, days to maturity, recent rain, and bed conditions behind it. Disagree with any of it? Change it. 34 new flowers Spring bulbs (tulip, daffodil, crocus, hyacinth, allium, lily), native perennials (cardinal flower, wild bergamot, blazing star, Joe Pye weed, milkweed), garden classics (peony, bearded iris, hosta, astilbe, Russian sage), and easy annuals (impatiens, geranium, lantana, celosia). Fall bulbs are scheduled for autumn planting. Reminders that arrive, and make sense Watering and harvest reminders now fire on schedule, and seed reminders warn you before sowing day when a packet is missing, low, or too old. Rain is counted over two days, so a wet yesterday and a drizzle today means one clear answer: "1.08 in. rain yesterday and today, watering paused until Thursday." Reminders tuned to each bed Record mulch, irrigation, soil, and sun for every bed. Watering intervals account for thirsty crops, drip lines, sandy soil, and shade. Missed something? No problem Mark a late task done, postpone it, skip it, or record that weather prevented it. Succession planting and crop rotation Keep lettuce, beans, and radishes coming, with the next sowing moved up when you log a harvest. Beds keep a year-by-year crop history and warn when a plant family returns too soon. Pest and disease log Record a problem with a photo and symptom checklist, see likely matches for that plant, then track every treatment and whether it worked. Harvest insights Record the variety you grew and see which yields best per plant, plus totals by crop type and CSV export. Pollinators and native plants Mark a bed as a pollinator bed for spring-to-fall bloom coverage, butterfly host plants, and plants native to your region. Pest advice includes bee-safe spray timing. Seasonal journal Several photos per entry, browsing by season, and year-over-year comparisons. Lock Screen widgets Watering tasks, your next harvest, and the frost countdown at a glance. Frost protection When frost is forecast, see which plantings are tender, which beds they're in, and what to do before dark. Apple Intelligence On supported iPhones and iPads, AI runs privately on your device with no API key, and can lay out a bed and place the plants for you. Your own Claude or OpenAI key still works as a fallback. Light and dark Choose System, Light, or Dark in Settings. Also improved Guided setup for zone, frost dates, beds, and crops. Editable seed packets. Established fruit trees and perennials now show their real cropping season instead of counting from the planting date.
