TickLens opens on your own region. It shows when ticks are active near you month by month, which species you are likely to meet, and which diseases matter where you live. Most of it works with no connection at all. YOUR TICK YEAR A twelve month strip marks the current month and shows how busy ticks usually are. Underneath sit the local notes: common species, the diseases worth knowing about, and the precautions that make a difference in your area. A German phone gets Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the FSME risk areas called out. A Japanese phone gets Japan and Korea. Twelve languages, each written for that region rather than translated from one country's advice. WHAT THE DISEASES LOOK LIKE Lyme borreliosis, tick-borne encephalitis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and tick-borne relapsing fever. For each one: where it occurs, how long symptoms usually take to appear, what the early signs look like, what happens if it goes untreated, and the point at which you should stop reading and call a doctor. Written from ECDC, CDC, WHO and national health authority guidance. COMMUNITY MAP Look at where people have run into ticks lately. Reading the map asks nothing of you: no account, no permission, no report of your own. If you want to add one, it sends an area of roughly a square kilometre and the date, plus the species if you recognise it. Nothing else. No account, no device identifier, no photo, no free text, which also means a report cannot be traced back to you. AFTER A BITE Log it with a photo and where on the body it was, then work through the 30 day symptom watch. Reminders are scheduled on your own phone, never on a server. IDENTIFY A TICK Point the camera at one and a model I trained myself on 3,258 labelled photographs names the likely genus with a confidence score. It runs entirely on the phone. A Smart Invert view helps when a dark tick is sitting in dark fur. HEALTH AUTHORITY LINKS Straight to your own country's health service, matched to your region and language. PRIVACY Everything except the community map works with no connection. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Camera frames are processed in memory and thrown away. Your bite log stays on your phone. Location is only used if you choose to report a sighting. NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE This is a reference tool, not a diagnostic one. Identification suggests a likely genus and can be wrong.
