RUOK Safety

About

RUOK Safety is a personal safety check-in app for anyone heading somewhere alone. Solo travel, a first date, a night run, an evening commute, a long drive home: set a safety timer before you go, check in when you are safe, and if you do not check in, RUOK alerts your emergency contacts for you. It is a simple, honest safety net for solo travelers, women, runners, hikers, and late-night commuters who just want someone to know they made it home. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add an emergency contact. They confirm through a web link before they are added, so no one is signed up without their consent. 2. Before a situation where you want a backup, start a one-tap safety timer. 3. Check in before the timer ends to clear it. If you do not, RUOK sends your contacts the message you wrote in advance, so they know to check on you. FEATURES - One-tap safety timers, from a few minutes to several hours - Daily check-ins for routines like commutes, evening walks, and solo work - Emergency contacts alerted by SMS the moment a timer expires without a check-in - Web-based contact consent: your contacts confirm before you can add them - Panic button on every plan, including Free, for an instant alert - Pause, extend, and check in right from the lock screen - Available in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese - Privacy-first: no ads, no trackers, and we never sell your data PLANS - FREE: 1 emergency contact, 2 check-in alerts and 1 panic alert per month. Every new account gets a 30-day free trial with 1 contact, 2 check-in alerts, and 1 panic alert per month, so you can try the core experience before subscribing. No card required. ABOUT SMS ALERTS Safety alerts are sent by text message to your emergency contacts from a verified toll-free number. SMS delivery currently reaches United States and Canada phone numbers only, so the contact who receives your alert needs a US or Canada (+1) number. You can add contacts and use the app anywhere, but choose your alert contacts accordingly. PRIVACY We do not track you, we do not show ads, and we do not sell anything. Your contact information is used for one purpose only: to send the safety alerts you ask us to send. Read our full privacy policy at https://www.ruok-app.com/privacy/.
