Welcome to the new Ginkgo, a morning garden for your practice. • Your own tree: soft dawn light over a living ginkgo tree. Each day you practice, one gold leaf grows. Each of the 8 weeks of the Steadiness Path is a branch with its real dates, and new seasons continue after week 8. • Start sitting down: a voice-guided seated try-it during setup, with a drawn guide who breathes and moves with the voice, and big captions. • Weekly Balance Check: four positions from the CDC's STEADI 4-Stage Balance Test, ten seconds each, beside a kitchen counter. A practice check, not a medical test. • A path that listens: tap Too easy, Just right or Too hard and the next days adjust their holds. Chair versions are offered whenever you want them. • Steady Mind, a new movement that trains balance and attention together. • Apple Health, if you choose: Tai Chi workouts and mindful minutes saved, and your iPhone's Walking Steadiness shown beside your practice. It stays on your device. • New Lock Screen widgets, a fresh Home Screen widget, and a share-my-week card for family. • Bigger type everywhere, with support for the largest accessibility text sizes. Day 1 of the path, the weekly Balance Check and your progress are always free. Thank you for practicing with us.

About
Ginkgo is gentle tai chi and qigong for steadier balance, made for adults 60 and over. Short, calm sessions you can do standing beside a counter or sitting in a chair, with a friendly voice guiding every step. A few minutes a day, and you become someone who walks without worrying. A MORNING GARDEN THAT GROWS WITH YOU Soft dawn light over a living ginkgo tree. Each day you practice, one gold leaf grows on your own tree. Each week of your path is a branch with its real dates, so you can see how far you have come. START SITTING DOWN During setup, a calm voice guides you through a short seated practice. A drawn guide breathes and moves with the voice, with big captions, so you feel what tai chi is like before anything else. AN 8-WEEK STEADINESS PATH About 7 minutes a day: Foundations, Rising and sitting, Steady standing, Shifting your weight, Stepping, One-leg balance with support, Walking forms, and The flowing form. After week 8, new seasons continue. Tell Ginkgo how a day felt (Too easy, Just right or Too hard) and the next days adjust their holds. Chair versions are offered whenever you want them. A WEEKLY BALANCE CHECK Four ways of standing, ten seconds each, beside a kitchen counter, based on the four positions of the CDC's STEADI 4-Stage Balance Test. Check once a week and watch your balance change. A practice check, not a medical test. 39 VOICE-GUIDED MOVEMENTS Clear illustrations and a calm voice, one step at a time, with chair options. Warm-up, stances, weight shifting, single-leg balance with support, walking forms, seated movements, breathing and cool-down. Steady Mind trains balance and attention together. 7 ROUTINES AND 5 PROGRAMS Routines from 5 to 15 minutes: Quick 5 · Morning Wake-Up · Before-Bed Calm · Confidence Boost · Walking Warm-Up · Chair Routine · 15-Minute Complete. Programs: Foundation · Sitting to Standing · Walking Confidence · Tai Chi Basics · Advanced Flow. MADE TO FEEL EASY • Bigger type everywhere, including the largest accessibility text sizes • Voice guidance set to full, minimal or off • Rest moments, calming scenes and soft music • Apple Health, if you choose: Tai Chi workouts and mindful minutes saved, and your iPhone's Walking Steadiness shown beside your practice, on your device • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets • A share-my-week card for family • No ads, and all audio works offline WHY TAI CHI A 2019 Cochrane review (Sherrington and colleagues) found that tai chi reduced the rate of falls in older adults by about 19%. Ginkgo is a practice companion, not medical advice. If you have a health condition or have fallen recently, check with your doctor first, and keep a sturdy chair or counter nearby.
