Listing changes AppTracker has observed for this app in this storefront — new versions, price moves, rating shifts, and store copy.
You can now tell the tutor its verdict is wrong. Mark your answer the way you say it should be marked, and Derive keeps your correction. A code block's language is now something you type, not something you hunt for. The picker opens in Derive's own theme, filters as you type, and keeps the languages you use most at the top. The pen lays down cleaner ink, with no doubled edges where a stroke commits. You can also change or cancel your subscription without leaving Derive: the App Store's own sheet opens inside the app, and Derive picks up the change the moment it closes. You can select a range of cells in a table by dragging across them, or with Shift and the arrow keys, and copy and paste the block in one go. Improved: an import can go into the notebook you already have open, as a new section, instead of always making a second one, the checking mark turns into its verdict in one smooth motion, an imported PDF loads the page you are reading first, a hold-to-ask press just outside an equation still reaches it, one Escape closes whatever is on top rather than everything at once, Derive sheds canvas caches when memory runs low instead of reloading, the text toolbar shows the font size at your caret rather than the last one you set, a repeat share warns you instead of quietly making a second notebook, prices read in your own currency, a cancelled subscription can come back on either plan rather than only the one you left, Derive tells you before a free trial turns into a charge, your account screen shows the charge that actually happened with your discount and your real card, one Tab press jumps straight to the canvas, and Derive stops naming keyboard shortcuts on a device that has no keyboard. Fixes: resting your palm to write with the Apple Pencil no longer fires undo, a brisk zero no longer erases the strokes under it, one touch fires one gesture, align and z-order no longer delete the strokes they move, page order survives promote and duplicate, signing in on a second device keeps your recent colours, undo after a scribble erase no longer loses those strokes a second later, deleting a widget by its X leaves nothing behind, code blocks and tables can start in the margin beside a Paper page, a long notebook title is trimmed instead of running past the edge, a PDF export no longer loses a page under a grown text box, a PDF you shared into Derive is no longer imported again when the app restarts, PDF import works again on iPads below iOS 18.4, app screens no longer extend past the bottom of the display, a crafted link can no longer plant a sign-in session, and diagram export no longer evaluates expressions taken from the page it exports. New to Derive? The app now opens on a demo you drive yourself: write an equation, hold to ask, and the tutor answers your own ink before you make an account. Thanks for trying Derive. About
Derive Notes is a canvas-first note-taking app built for math, science, and engineering students. Write equations by hand with Apple Pencil, and let Derive understand what you wrote, so your notes do more than sit on the page. HANDWRITING THAT'S ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD Draw on an infinite canvas the way you would on paper. Derive recognizes your handwritten math as you work, turning messy strokes into clean, structured expressions you can check, reuse, and build on. A TUTOR RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR WORK Stuck on a step? Open the tutor panel and get step-by-step help tied directly to what's on your canvas. It works alongside your handwriting instead of pulling you into a separate app. BUILT FOR REAL STUDY SESSIONS - Infinite canvas with smooth, low-latency inking - Pen, eraser, and lasso tools for fast editing - Organize your work into notebooks and pages - Two-finger tap to undo, pinch to zoom - Your notebooks sync securely across your devices DESIGNED FOR FOCUS A clean, distraction-free workspace with light, dark, sepia, and high-contrast themes, so long study sessions stay comfortable. Derive Notes keeps your handwriting at the center and adds just enough intelligence to make studying faster by recognizing your math, helping you through hard steps, and keeping every page organized and in sync. Note: Derive uses trusted third-party AI providers to process handwriting and page text for recognition and tutoring. You're asked for consent in-app before these features are used. DESIGNED FOR IPAD AND APPLE PENCIL Handwriting, drawing, and the full authoring tools require an iPad with Apple Pencil. On iPhone, Derive is a companion for reading and reviewing your notebooks: browse your library, open any page, search across everything, and ask the tutor. Notes you write on iPad appear on iPhone automatically. SUBSCRIPTION Derive Pro unlocks writing and editing, handwriting recognition, and the AI tutor. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial, and a trial or subscription is required to use Derive. If a subscription later lapses, the notebooks you already made stay readable, so your own work is never locked away. - Derive Pro Monthly: A$9.99 per month - Derive Pro Annual: A$101.99 per year - Both start with a 7-day free trial Prices are in Australian dollars and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
