About
Peekabout turns any walk into a scavenger hunt tailored to where you are, who you're with, and what the weather's doing. Tell the app your terrain, the weather, and your children's ages. In seconds, it generates a fresh set of things to find, hear, touch, count, and collect - each one adapted to the season and your surroundings. No two hunts are the same. TWO WAYS TO PLAY Every hunt can be played two ways, and you choose once it's ready - no need to commit at setup. 1. Explore lets everyone tackle items in any order, at a relaxed pace, with a handful visible at a time so the list feels magical rather than overwhelming. 2. Challenge reveals one item at a time, a stopwatch runs, and every find is logged against your family's personal best. It's the same hunt either way - so mixed-age families can race a Challenge on the way out for older kids, then revisit it together as an Explore on the way back, reading the facts and chatting about every find. HINTS WHEN YOU NEED THEM Stuck? Tap for a clue. Each item has up to three progressively specific hints, written to nudge without giving it away. Every item also comes with a short educational hook - a "did you know?" moment that sparks curiosity without lecturing. LEARNS AS YOU GO Peekabout remembers what your family has found before. Each new hunt excludes recent items and adjusts difficulty based on your history. The more you walk, the better the hunts get. WORKS OFFLINE Once a hunt is generated, your phone goes in your pocket. No signal needed on the walk. There's also a built-in library of over 300 items for days when you have no internet at all. BUILT FOR FAMILIES The parent holds the phone. The children explore. Items are written for kids as young as two, with enough depth to keep older children and adults engaged. Large text, big buttons, and a calm interface that stays out of the way. SEVEN TERRAINS Woodland, park, beach, countryside, urban, riverside, and moorland - each with specialist sub-terrains. A rockpool hunt is different from a clifftop walk, even at the same beach. RESPECTS YOUR FAMILY'S PRIVACY No accounts. No sign-up. No tracking. No analytics. Ages are sent as bare numbers to generate hunts and nothing else. Hunt data stays on your device. Pay once. No ads. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases.
What's new · 1.2.1
The clue text and the "Did you know?" nature facts are now clearer and a touch larger, so they're easier to take in out on the trail. Plus a little under-the-hood tidying.
