Bottles, the way your cellar holds them. Where your racks keep bottles lying along the wall, labels out, the Plans can now draw them that way. In Edit Storage, choose Bottles — facing you, pointing left or pointing right — for a rack, a bin or storage drawn as a count. Each bottle takes the classic shape for its style, from a Bordeaux red and a slender white to a foiled Champagne, a half bottle and a Port, with the producer written along it. A slot holding two different wines now shows both. On iPhone Duo, fold it shut for a glance at your cellar, or at the wine you have open. Open it out and the bottle and its details sit either side of the fold. When the app opens on the Cellar, it now always opens on the Schematic. Dark mode, refined for easier reading. Using more than one device, or sharing your cellar? Please update the app on every device so your bottle orientations are kept.

About

The Cellar Schematic is a modern cellar book for people who care about what's in the glass. Add bottles two ways: scan a label, or type a wine in when the bottle isn't in front of you. Every field is editable whichever way you choose. On an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, scanning a label works with nothing connected at all — and the photograph never leaves your device. SCANNING, WITH NOTHING CONNECTED The app reads the label on the device itself — producer, wine, vintage, region, appellation, grape and alcohol, wherever the bottle prints them. The region is matched against a built-in atlas of 834 wine regions under 7,060 names, so the words on the bottle are what place it. Where Apple's private cloud is available, what the label leaves off — the region a producer works in, the grape, the color — is filled in from Apple's own knowledge, at no cost to you. ADD WITHOUT THE BOTTLE Some wine you never hold before it's yours — delivered straight to storage, bought en primeur, or kept by a friend. Tap + and type it in: producer, wine and vintage are enough, and where Apple's private cloud is available the region, grape and color are filled in for you. DRINKING WINDOWS Know when to drink your wine. Each bottle is classified Hold, Drink Now, Drink Soon or Past Peak — set it yourself, or connect an OpenAI account and the window behind it is estimated for you. THE VIRTUAL SOMMELIER (optional AI feature) Ask what to open tonight, what pairs with the salmon, or which bottles are ready now. Recommendations come from your own cellar, not a generic database. THE VIRTUAL CONCIERGE (optional AI feature) Ask the Concierge about the app itself and it answers in plain language, so you spend your time pouring, not reading manuals. WHERE TO BUY (optional AI feature) Find current retailers for any wine near you, in your local currency. Discover similar bottles when the one you want isn't available, or source a whole buying list from one or two retailers in a single sweep. THE CELLAR SCHEMATIC A signature radial diagram — five rings for category, drinkability, vintage, grape and country — that turns your collection into a single, considered image. Shareable, anonymized, and unmistakably yours. The Plans show not what you hold but where it lies: each storage area drawn to plan, every bottle exactly where it sits — a circle, or side-on in its classic shape. And a world map that plots your cellar rather than listing it — each mark a region you hold, sized by the bottles in it. A SHARED CELLAR Invite a partner, a household, or a tasting circle to one cellar via iCloud. Add and update bottles together. Everyone sees the same shelves, in real time. ALSO INSIDE Tasting notes, personal ratings, food pairings and critics' summaries The Vault — keeps reserve bottles out of everyday recommendations The Buying List — flag bottles you want and source them together Store a bottle in more than one location, with a per-location breakdown Search and filter by color, region, grape, location or drinkability Import cellars from Vivino or CellarTracker exports Dark and light appearance Ready for iPhone Duo — held open sideways, the bottle sits beside its details OPTIONAL AI Tasting notes, critics' summaries, drinking windows, label images, the Sommelier, the Concierge and the buying tools run on your own OpenAI account. Setup is one-time and guided step by step inside the app. No app subscription, no markup: you pay OpenAI directly for what you use, typically a fraction of a cent per question. Your key stays in your device's Keychain and your requests go straight to OpenAI — never through us. It is entirely optional: scanning, the Plans, the Schematic, the world map, drinking windows, sharing, search, filters and imports all work with no AI account at all. YOUR CELLAR, YOUR ICLOUD Future updates are included. Your cellar lives in your own iCloud account, not on our servers — your collection stays yours, on devices you own.
