NEW: COLLAGE WIDGET A new small widget with four photos from this day in a tight grid, in the same style as the Large and Extra Large widgets. Add it from the widget gallery next to the single-photo one. YOUR OWN WORDS, ON YOUR MEMORIES (iOS 27) ThisDay now shows what you wrote on a photo in the Photos app. Your caption, star rating and keywords appear in the photo details, under each photo in Story, and on Rediscover cards. STAR RATINGS SHAPE YOUR MEMORIES (iOS 27) A photo you've rated is one you remember, so Rediscover no longer resurfaces it as "forgotten", and your 4 and 5 star photos get a better chance of making your Year Capsule. MOMENT LABELS, ON YOUR iPHONE (iOS 27, Apple Intelligence) Optional and off by default. Turn on Settings → Label moments and ThisDay adds a short label like "Birthday cake" or "Beach at sunset" when your iPhone recognises the occasion, and says nothing when it doesn't. It never describes people. The photo never leaves your device. BETTER WITH VOICEOVER Photos now have proper VoiceOver labels, and on iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence they can be described aloud, using your iPhone's own model. PRIVACY Your anniversaries and favourite days are now stored in a more protected Spotlight index, so they can't be read while your iPhone is locked. Everything still happens on your device. No account, no uploads, nothing leaves your phone.
